I find dual wielding to be pretty awful mainly because the double-attack and power attacks take so bloody long while rooting you in place and don't stagger opponents. If you want high damage: a two-hander will give you better maneuverability, stagger and longer reach - in other words you have...
My favorite character is the one I'm playing right now: The Bloodaxe Marauder. A very basic axe and shield nord warrior with heavy armor and no ranged capabilities.
Blood, terror and gold. Raiding villages and mining towns. Riding down helpless travelers on the road. Seeking out battle to...
I play on master.
The issue with Skyrim though is that there are too many I WIN buttons. It's always a fine balance between progress and restraint. You want to feel like a bad ass but take it too far and the game becomes boring. My Axe & Shield warrior got to level 50 and I was forced to turn...
Hey Enel.
Imperial paladin eh.
Your magica and stamina needs will depend on how you want to play it. Wards will be pretty much useless if you have a shield. Most of the anti-undead spells are pretty weak. The Guardian Circle spell is sweet and takes 211 magica to cast at 100 skill and the...
Jewelry is great but you have to sit there transmuting iron to silver and then to gold. If your character doesn't do enchanting or perk in alteration that becomes rather tedious.
Leather is readily available and cheap. I just buy out the smiths in every town I visit. I believe it takes about...
Hey,
300 magica with basic regen is more than enough.
You've got 200% of cost reduction between four items.
Restoration doesn't really need any cost reduction. The basic heal spell will be more than enough considering you've got summons + heavy armor.
Alteration becomes useless once...
Hey St1ngray,
I think this is perfectly normal for a first or even third play though. You want to experience the game as yourself - that's cool.
Doing role playing right requires turning down certain story lines and that means cutting oneself off from a part of the game experience. This is...
I've never been a console gamer. My last one was the SEGA Genesis back in 1996 so take this opinion with a grain of salt.
PC Pro's:
More precise controls, especially for ranged combat.
Better graphics (if you card can handle them).
Portability (if you are playing on a laptop).
Mods.
MODS...
Hey Daelon,
It all depends on what you want from this game. What's more important to you: experiencing every quest-line you come across or playing your character a certain way?
Yah the higher a base cost of a spell the more XP you get. The problem is that these spells also require a ton of magika and a pre level 20 character is hard pressed to get even -50% spell cost.
I can't imagine how difficult Destruction must be on Legendary. Especially if you don't opt for Enchanting while wearing Heavy Armor. I'm currently working on a Battle Mage on Master and it's just barely manageable. I have enough firepower for most encounters.
My only problem is that it takes...
I usually do them in groups. Follow the main quest lines and when they send you to a specific area you can do all the kill X or fetch quests at once. The quests I hate in my log are the delivery or meet X in cities. The Book of Love quests drive me crazy for that reason. I've also been know to...
Hey everyone,
I'm aware that wearing all four armor slots gives the player a 100 point hidden armor bonus.
What I would like to know is if this is a 25 points/slot bonus or a 100 points flat bonus if all four slots are worn.
In other words, if I wear a mage hood/circlet with Heavy Chest...
If i'm not mistaken legendary means you are doing 25% damage and taking 3x damage.
Which means you need a skillset that hits hard and allows you to stay out of harms way.
Archery, 2H, Sneak, Conjuration, Illusion come to mind.
Powerleveling will get you killed plus it's no fun. The key is...
Hmm, I always wondered about that. I'm thinking no. From my experience damage skills level no slower on Master than Adept. My guess is they calculate XP/damage prior to the adjustment.
Armor skills are actually harder to level because everything hits so hard you end up using strategies that...
Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. Melee's are way to crazy to consistently set up a back-stab. Plus it takes too long to circle around for the kill.
From the wiki, difficulty increases enemy damage while decreasing the players. That is all. Master difficulty is 2x enemy damage 0.5x player damage.
