    Like Senatour said as soon as ya leave the starter bit, get ya ass to Windhelm see the kid kill the bitch, join the DB get the lovely armor - it can be done at lvl 1 i can confirm this :P easy sneaky starter set

    Smithing mate........Improve them at the grindstone - 2 ways to do it improve your smithing and unlock the perks - or #enchant or obtain a load of +smithing gear, throw a +smithing Potion down ya neck and try the grindstone or for best results do both :P

    And to add to that - Enchantment Skill and Perks and Potions used etc also effect the Finshed Chant, Tip save Grand Souls for when you want to do you own gear not for vendor trash

    There is no best race tbh in this version mate, you get a slight starter bonus to certain skills with some races, and some of the Racials are better ie Orc's but i'd go with what you like the look of tbh have a quick read of http://skyrimguild.com/picking-your-race-in-skyrim/
