To begin with and to get it out of the way my personal beliefs on gay marriage are not up for argument, suffice to say I am of the opinion that it is wrong according my religious faith. However, Aravis my female dark elf is of a different notion and just married Njada Stonearm. It just fits her character that she would be a lesbian. A strong, independent, warrior female she views men as beneath her and feels more comfortable in being the lead in a same sex marriage. I guess it's an example of my character completely taking on a life of her own in the way that if you're writing a book sometimes a character gets away on you. I find it ironic and yet freeing. Anybody else out there have gay characters?

I have no problem with homosexuals, but for some reason I just can't make a gay character. Even if its role play I guess they have to have my my sexuality.

Cora's married to Aela. And Wrathion swings both ways. Rosealia's my only straight one. Not to get too into it, I'm not straight and I guess I relate more to gay characters.

Same here; not being straight myself, my characters often too tend to be a touch on the gay side. My Redguard Jabirah "Jira" married Aela. My Bosmer thief Ginalee is a shameless flirt and very open about her sexuality, but isn't one to actually settle down and marry anyone. Cena Latheril, my Altmer mage/merchant is pretty much asexual, sex and love aren't really her thing.

Naginata

Huntress of the Shadows
My main character, Naginata, married Sylgja from Shor's Stone and is very happy with her :) Sylgja is a sweetheart and is always so happy to see me. Unfortunately... for some reason, the game glitched when I tried to move my family and they disappeared... I miss my Sylgja...

On a side note: I am straight, but I support same sex marriage.

Yeah some of my characters have definitely been gay, do to the fact that I think many of the male characters in Skyrim are ugly and WAY too short for a High Elf female.

But yes I support same sex marriage. I've always been, "I like who I like. Don't care what's under the underwear."

Well I'm gay IRL so most of my (male) characters are too. I've made a few straight males and some lesbians, but I wish there were more hot guys in Skyrim. There's very few that are available for marriage that I like the look of.

In RL this old man is straight, lol. I've been fascinated of the female form ever since I knew there was a difference.

The character's I make though are always female, and I have always preferred a female follower. Mainly because I play in 3rd person (unless using a bow, or casting a distance), and I prefer seeing a female's backside than a males.

As far as marriage? If being married in Skyrim wasn't so lame, my char's would be married to a female. But Bethesda left that in a shambles, so my char's just have to settle for a girlfriend/follower.

And just for the record, from this old man's perspective? It ain't none of my business with whom or how one loves, or what happens behind closed door's (or open if one is a voyeur). Frankly, I think Michael Sam is one brave and smart individual. And I think we'll see one hell of a football player.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
My current, Ingin Thorne, isn't really interested in a relationship, although she probably will get married and has already adopted a kid (if only to have somebody to live at Lakeview where she never goes), but I ran in to Erdi at the Blue Palace (couldn't have been Una since she was a blond and was killed by vampires) who pretty blatantly proposition her. Just a thought. Hmm...

As to the personal choices for sexual orientation. Who cares. To each his own beliefs and bigotries. We shouldn't judge. There will be judgment at some point, but we poor mortals are not the ones to make it.

I've played gay, lesbian and straight characters. I often rack up several betrothals from NPCs of both genders before picking one to actually marry. I appreciate that those options exist within the game, without commentary. I would like to see same-gender NPC couples as well.

But there is one! At least. Belethor and his boytoy. In my current run through, Belethor has been killed by vamps and his boytoy is absolutely in denial. He goes about business and recommends his former other 1/2's place to shop even though it's been closed for ages and I've cleaned out the lockbox at least a dozen times by now. Poor baby. Maybe he should find another. Nazeem is available. Obviously he needs some relief being married to that harridan, or he could always bear up and go for the Jarl's brother (anybody with that much attitude has got to have some sugar in his tank! :))

Nazeem seems the natural choice for somebody who had previously been with Belethor. I bet that his wife would agree ;). Hrongar is a different flavor altogether - although I would agree with your assessment of his spiciness.

I believe there's a homosexual couple of male Nords who you find dead on Solsteheim - Hrodulf and his partner. One is found in the basement of the burnt house, and the other is lying on the beach next to a boat. Read their letters to find out about their relationship.

Hey! Someone stole my sweet roll!
My characters are always female and my Nord is planning on marrying Sylgja once she decides to settle down. I don't really think of her as a lesbian. It's just that as a straight male I'm a little uncomfortable "marrying" another guy. Apparently even fictionally.

Conchvegas, I feel the same way about gay marriage. However, I'm having a little difficulty with it because my niece just married her girlfriend. I want them to be happy but at the same time if the gay marriage issue ever came up for a vote in my state I'd probably vote against it.

That's the thing. With female characters I don't have a problem. What that says about straight guys and Iesbians is the question. I couldn't get two male characters married to each other either.

When in doubt, follow the fox.
If I had to guess, based on your post, then I'd say my character is simply a total whore.

Of course, every single straight marriage that ever occurred in the real world has been perfect, right? There has NEVER been a straight man who was unfaithful to his wife, or a woman who left her husband and ended up getting divorced. How dare same sex couples come along and mess with the idea of marriage.
