Right well I just feel like this place is losing it's touch. Like I remember back when the role play section had about three new role plays every day and now your lucky to have a new role play every week! I just feel like the forums are dying a bit like with the sky rim discussion thread there was a full page of threads that had been posted in that day and now there's like half of that and the lobby has barely any posts any more. It feels like the forum is dying a bit. Does anyone agree/disagree?

Disagree.

The forums ebb and flow, sometimes it's quiet, sometimes it's busy. There have been a lot of new RPs recently, and although it's a shame that some of them never really get started, that was a problem when the forum was at its busiest.

The general discussion maybe isn't as busy as it was a year ago, but Skyrim is over two years old now. It's surprised me how long these forums continue to be used, and there are still a lot of worthwhile discussions, just not quite as many questions because most of the people here have already played the game through half a dozen times.

I see your point, but I wouldn't say the forums were "dying."

Im fairly new so I cant compare to what it was in the past years but Im also impressed how well the forums are still going after so long.

Yes, almost every build/quest/race and playstyle discussion has been exhausted, but I find that it just makes us more creative in what we choose to discuss.

Yes, It drives me crazy sometimes to see a new thread for every1 trying to work out how to be the 'typical dragonborn' or a 'Khajiit/thief/assassin' but in saying that, no matter how similar the titles and the question, your bound to find unique responses that can still teach people something.

As for the Roleplaying section, im relatively new to that as well but I actually thought that we pumped out the new Rps quite quickly...

As far as im concerned, this forum is doing pretty well for a game (albeit an excellent game) that is 2(?) years old, although... I do wish that I could have been a member when it was in it's prime :D

Well I for one do not go scrolling back to read ancient questions.. and I would bet not many new comers do to. Which is why we get the same questions asked. Annoying for the oldies, but informative for the newbies. I see new people on here every day and it's good to see. Yeah it may be a little slow right now, but that's just the time of year. People are on holiday.. (Here in Australia, school is back in a weeks time), and it's just a busy time of year.

I often link people to old discussions, simply because there used to be more experts and a lot of build experimenters and focussed players that would provide a lot of really interesting information. I had consulted the forums for a few months before I actually signed up, but had taken in a lot of information and was able to contribute good stuff right away. I learned so much from those days, so like to impart that information to others.

I would say, in my year here that the community was a tad bit more vivacious back in the early months of 2013, Ren was around, Dante, Rayven, but I haven't seen Dante in ages, and Ren has left, Rayven sticks around though. I will say we have an increasing population of new guys joining by the day, ands they aren't like the newbies that end up recloosing and not posting, most of the new guys here are active, even in the SB! But yeah, I will say, it's not the forum it was a year ago, but it is still active and awesome!

Ups and downs. I would say I've noticed a decrease in traffic, to be expected with Skyrim being released for so long. It'll probably increase once TESO is released and that section is more used.

Besides, the forums would be dying if I left. :p SkyrimForums without the DrunkenMage? Now that would be a sign for end of the world as we know it.

Well , Its been a while since Skyrim was released .... of course forums is less populated , and some people I knew have left . And some of them were highest posting and famous memebers . even i don't come here as much as I did last year . I just come and chat a bit on shoutbox every two or three days .
I think its because i'm pretty much done with skyrim , same with other people out here .
But forum isn't dying , True it dosen't have all the excitement that it had before . but its still a really Active website ! and I'm sure it will be full of people again when next TES game comes out ;)

it still is in its prime Irishman mainly for PC players though just wait until mods like beyond skyrim are released its should be later this year (probably) infact if you don't have a pc with skyrim get one cause I could wager this mod will be the rebirth of the game. especially considering it is several times larger then skyrim itself and adds every province to the game map, new questlines, new enemies, new features and much more if anything can rejuvenate skyrim it is that. it is on dark creations if anyone wants to look at it http://www.darkcreations.org/

I wouldn't know, I just made an account today. There is more activity here than any of the other forums I go to. But maybe that's because this one is just bigger and has more traffic to begin with. Skyrim was released in 2011 and is about 2 years old now. I can imagine people are done discussing things.

But there will always be new members like me. And of course TESO will come out soon. That will attract members too.

True.. Very true..
When people say "the forums are dying" they are actually saying "my buddies are leaving". ;) And that is definitely the case. Like you've said yourself: Skyrim is 2 years old now, and people have discussed whatever there was to be discussed. Especially the forum veterans who have been here since 2011. It was to be expected some of them would take their leave eventually.
I agree with AS88 here. The forums are not exactly dying. It's just that the people you used to see a lot around here are online less and less. But you could call that a generation shift as well. Because their are new members, like you, still signing up every day.

Maybe the forums won't get the stamina back it once used to have. But I don't see this place dying anytime soon. ;)

I stopped playing Skyrim ages ago, can't even look at the damn thing without being disgusted. So the General Skyrim Discussion is useless to me, mostly because I don't feel like talking about the same Light Armor vs Heavy Armor threads day-in and day-out. I'm definitely not into the RP but I got the vibes that that part of the forums has always been active.

I just wish the off-topic was as active as it once was when I first joined up, I enjoyed the many debates we had. I pretty much just log in to see, to disappointment.

I was just scrolling through and reading! I liked your comment, since I have only been on here one day which entailed one greeting along with one nasty debate! I made some boys mad then, I was accused of being off topic and ranting! I am usually the quiet one! I am glad to know now that I am not the only one this happens to! :D

We have a negative ratings spammer on the forum at the moment so please no that most people on this forum are not like that. We are usually very friendly and if you have any issues dont hesitate to ask!

Its a shame that you had to get involved in that as a new member...

I can debate with you and not dislike you. I don't know you, so I have no real opinion. To each their own. lol
So much for fun, so far most people on here are vicious and I just wanted to talk Skyrim. I don't like the c-word, but it was a mere opinion and I defended my postion. It doesn't mean anything more than that. I don't put up with immaturity, but I have a great sense of humor! Maybe we will dislike each other again sometime! Thanks.
