What are the pros and cons of equipping 2 daggers as opposed to 1 dagger and sword? I'm trying really hard to dedicate myself to a prototypical assassin build but i'm a bit confused over which weapon type is most efficient.

The biggest concern for dual daggers is you can't stagger. You could work around that with paralysis enchantments, or use paralysis or slow poisons on guys you know won't go down in a few dual flurries.

Sword and dagger is going to be better every time, but dual daggers is still entirely doable.

Thanks for the reply. So far the biggest down fall with using 2 daggers is that you really have go get in close in order to hit the opponent but it is really efficient on stamina.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
I like to equip 2 of the same kind in general, but, with 2 daggers, you end up with amazing speed, especially if you have the dual wield perk and can do a lot of damage, very quickly.

Personally, I like to dual wield the dagger you get for clearing out Moss Mother and then a good health absorb (and preferably a second enchantment, usually magika or stamina absorb).

Works like a charm and looks really cool too!

As has been said, Dual Daggers will have speed and less stamina consumption on usage; combined with stealth (which DRASTICALLY increases their damage) I'd say they're a completely viable form of fighting!

Correct Sahdira if she is wrong, but perks specific to swords (ei, bladesman) would not apply to daggers. Sahdira tried two daggers for a time but was happier with sword and dagger. She seemed to kill her opponents faster.

Absolutely true. The only perks that increase dagger damage are in the 'Stealth Tree'.

I think the base 5/5 and dual savagery both apply to daggers

This is correct.

Although, once I was playing a rogue, and the Dual Flurry perks (the perks that increase dual-wielding speed) didn't seem to have an effect when wielding two daggers. When I equipped a dagger and a sword, my attacks were incredibly fast, but when i had two daggers, they were actually quite slow.

Anyone else ever noticed something like this?

Dual equipping Valdr's lucky dagger and some random dagger with no enchantment and then using Elemental Fury is a very viscious combo. Recently I've been preffering the Bound Dagger. By level 2, dual wielding them gives you a destructive DPS.

However, I would actually prefer sword and dagger mainly because you've a slightly better damage output than dual daggers.

If you want the typical assassin build however, dual daggers are certainly the way to go. Dual wielding sneak power attack with daggers doing upwards of 30x damage? Yeah, the Ebony Warrior doesn't have antthing on that. I'd also use a crossbow. Bit loud, but with damage like that, they'll be saying hello to ol' Shor before they even know it.

I luv Valdr's Lucky Dagger and I keep it on me all the time after I get it. I didn't even know there was a bound dagger! I've gotten to really like my bound ax, sword and bow, but it would be cool to have a dagger as well. Where can you get it?

You've got to have Dragonborn DLC. Then go to Tel Mythrin. Talk to Neloths assistant. After doing his quest he will sell a variety of useful spells. Bound Dagger is one of them.
