Hello everyone, new to Elder Scrolls and Skyrim

Hello, new person to Elder Scrolls and Skyrim. I'm kinda getting used to the whole RPG without millions of players online, kinda boring, but kinda relaxing at the same time. Just saying hi and had a couple new player questions to boot if that's ok.

I've been playing a few saves to get the hang of it and all, but what is there to really do? I mean besides killing things to level up, I don't get this whole crafting or enchanting thing. I haven't seen no where in the world to mine for ore or nothing unless I'm missing it somewhere.

I've also played one save up to the bleak barrow dungeon (I think that's the name), but I kept getting owned in there. I don't know if my level was to low or what but oh my god I kept getting owned badly.

Hi there, and welcome to the forums.

You may feel a bit overwhelmed by how much content Skyrim has, and that's normal. Don't worry about the very little things as they'll be introduced later in to the game. Just continue with the main story to see how the game's like. After that, go into cities do some side-quests.

When you say your playing saves im assuming your on a pc and starting of where someone else has left it? if so i strongly suggest you start from the beggining, its the only way to really get to grips as the game goes along and more and more content is unlocked.

also ore are like little mounds on the floor, ive seen a few near water. you have to have a pickaxe to hand to mine. just go up and press (X on ps3

)...

there is just so much to do and i hear with the dynamic quest in skyrim you can quest foreever,, aparently!

No, my own saves. I've got a few I started.

And I'm at the part where you kill the dragon again, but I'm a melee so having a hard time killing it before he kills me =/.

Oh ok, i can only Play 1 game at a time, gl..

And as with the dragon im not sure its possible to go toe to toe with a dragon at lowlevels. Hit and hide from the tower with bow & arrow and magika ( lightning seems to work quite well

).
