Which do you prefer, in and out of combat? (first person/third person)

I prefer third person for both.

P.S I am a noob so I used first person and just got into third, but I really want to learn how to use third person better. But my player just blocks a lot of the screen. Does anyone have tips? I play on Xbox so it's a little harder.

Honestly I would suggest 1st person for battle and 3rd person for travel. For me, at least, it works best this way.

Yeah, that's what I usually tend to do, but dual-wielding looks so crappy on first person. Agreed? I go dual-wielding a lot.

Actually I believe 1st person is best for dual-wielding. But that's only because I can't get over the one sheath. There's only one sheath for both swords, and it annoys me beyond belief. At least with 1st person I don't have to suffer those few horrible seconds.

Black Orchid

Death Incarnate
First person all the way, unless I'm taking screenshots, or admiring my beautiful (or hideous) characters...

I go for first person for both. I find combat way too confusing in third person, and it you are seeing the world through your characters eyes it makes roleplaying a little easier for me.

That's true, whenever I go with a two handed build on third person, I go for a power attack and miss. :/
But, again, you look so badass... :D

I mostly use first-person, but sometimes when travelling I zoom out and admire my handiwork of a character.

I always prefer first person, I personally just find it easier to use, and I actually feel like I'm playing as my character from their perspective. The only time I really use third person is when I wanna admire my character and see how awesome they look. :p

3rd person for me, with the exception of Archery. For some reason the shots never match the sights on third person!!!

I must be getting old; the first person has started making me motion sick.

3rd person for me. I think its mostly because I am way too used to 3rd person when playing rpg. Also because I get a good view of the effect of a spell.

1st person confuses me quite a bit. I can't figure out heads or tails.

First person only. I even shy away from vampire lord and werewolf because I hate being forced in to that view.

First person for me.
I did have one character whom I played in third person for 30+ levels, but it did have its problems. Aiming was difficult, and I often missed with arrows, Shouts and power attacks. It was cool to see my character fight, though. :D

I still use third person in some situations, such as when I want to peek around a corner in a dungeon, while remaining hidden in a corner.

First person for combat and third person when I am taking in the sights. I also like third person when using a spell like candlelight or when I break out a torch. Just allows me to see the area better.

I use first person for combat, but prefer to travel and do basically everything else in third person. I can't fight in third person at all, though.

As for the dual wielding... I hate how it looks in third person, too. I hate how there's only one sheath. I try to tell myself that there are two scabbards, side by side, and it just looks like one. I also hate how two-handed weapons sit on the back. I played a character where I unequipped his weapon every time I went into third person which was whenever I wasn't fighting, lol.

I use third person for everything. It gives me a better advantage in combat so I know where everyone/thing is; and I get to admire my character and watch her work at the same time. Whenever I end up in first person, I usually know it's an important "cut scene" or that I have to pay attention.

3rd Person all the way for me. For some reason 1st person games always give me motion sickness. Even as a kid I couldn't play Doom or Wolfenstein because of it, so for me there's no real choice. I only ever use 1st person briefly to snipe with my arrows.

I used third person for a short while, but now I mostly use first person. Battle is easier for me in first person, but I admit when doing a final attack in a dragon I quickly zoom out in hopes if doing an awesome killcam where you jump on the drake's head and bash its skull in :D
