All of the nord lovers should make a thread dedicated to them. We could all talk about our builds as well as just everything nord. Kinda like the argonian one if you have seen it.

You mean the dock workers?

Yes but I actually do like argonians. The only thing I hate is the snooty high elves.

Argonians have a special place in my heart too. My second character was an Argonian Archer that wore dragon scale armor. He looked pretty awesome. Then the save data got corrupted. But when I'm in Nord mode I see them as nothing more than dock workers and slaves. I also hate all Elves, Dominion or not.

I like bosmer and dark elves. My friend is obsessed with argonians and I with nords so we will both be joining the ebonheart pact on TESO.

Thanks mates-I'll have to check it out with one of my warrior builds. I haven't gotten the Daedric smithing perk on any of mine yet, so it's good to know you don't need it.

If you're looking for a way to get your hands on Ancient Nord Armour, head to Forelhost in the Rift. There are ghosts in there (trying not to spoil it) who wear full sets of the armour, so you could loot a few sets if you were bothered about enchanting or whatever. Also, there's a battlemage called Bashnag in a cave south of Helgen who wears Ancient Nord.

Way to take all the fun out of it. xD

How is it taking the fun out of it if, for:
a) Forelhost - you get to kill a barrow full of undead Dragon Cultists (betrayers of your character's ancestors) and eventually come across Rahgot's tomb and a scripted dragon fight, or
b) Bashnag - raid a cave full of necromancers to fight an Orcish Battlemage.

Oh yeah, no fun at all compared to standing at the forge spamming leather bracers.

I was kidding good sir. I tried to imply it with the xD. I was just unsuccessfully trying to state that no matter the case (t)he(y) should still do the companions quests. Sorry for the confusion.

Why spam leather bracers when you could spam iron daggers?

Since one of the patches, smithing xp is based on the value of the item. The bracers are worth 25 (compared to 10 for iron daggers), so spamming that is more worthwhile. I think that leather helmets are actually the best, though. They take more to make but are worth 60 septims

Oh, Also, I recommend listening to this while reading.

High King of Skyrim

King of the barbarian horde

A true Nord, learns how to hunt from his father long before he learns how to fight. A Nord cannot feed his family battle-axes and arrows. Skyrim is full of game to use as food and a resource for smithing, use them.

I know a nord should be able to hunt. But should I add archery to my build then?

Im still debating using archery. I already have two combat skills.

I'm not sure if I've actually played any characters seriously yet that didn't use archery. Its something almost anybody in skyrim would know to some degree, and probably almost everyone where I live IRL.

For the nobles it would be sport, food for townspeople, and food/survival for adventurers

I don't think it's absolutely necessary, but it fits and I like it, whether you use perks or not. I think a brutal warrior would use a strong heavy bow well smithed, with varying degrees of skill.

I know I should be good with a bow since nords are great hunters and good with every type of weapon, I think I might have to use one now.

I have an outfit for almost everything, and when you get to a higher level you could use the Helm of Yngol with Nordic Carved armor and Wuuthrad? I know it looked good on Patches :D

Dont get me wrong, plaing as my harbinger nord I love the historical old weapons but as an individual and nord hero myself iv smithed myself a Nord Hero Greatsword. From my very 1st druagr cript I picked up 1 of thier greatswords and I was overjoyd that I could smith such an awesome blade.

The only small problem is that becuase I dont enchant (or use any magic really) I cant name my blade.

Also on the topic of archery, the quiver gets in the way of my epic looking sword so iv joined the dawnguard to get a crossbow. Killing vampires that threaten skyrim is pretty nordic dontcha think?

Crossbows just dont seem nordic to me. They seem more of an imperial weapon.

I rarely use ranged weapons with him anyway. Besides after getting infected with the beast blood my nord sorta went off the rails - didnt sleep, wasnt as nice to my fellow nords and got mixed up in some dodgy deals. Im thinking I should cure myself and settle down with a wife and perhaps a child... shame you hafta adopt.
