First of all.. :p

thread_necromancy_5.jpg

Secondly, welcome Slith and well done for actually using the search function to look for an existing thread on a particular subject. I (personally) prefer thread necromancy to spamming new threads.

Thirdly, the OP hasn't been on the forums for about 6 weeks, but the build suggested is really effective and fun to play.

Fourthly, here's the way I'd organise the perks for this particular build.

http://skyrimcalculator.com/304163

In terms of Magicka requirements, I'd say >250 Magicka (pre-enchantment effects, eg Adept Hood) would give you enough to cast a flesh spell (if necessary), fire off some illusions, conjure a friend and a weapon once you had the cost-reducing perks and maybe one or two enchanted items boosting magicka stats or reducing casting costs.

Here's a more complex build for this style of play (but with light armour and destruction rather than alteration and one-handed). It's excellent, seriously.

Finally, this build is awesome, everyone should try it :p

hmmm.. good build but i think using this might be good too but it needs enchanting
http://skyrimcalculator.com/304161
just enough too eliminate at least 70% max to 50% less cost to casting
about the magic base i think since it uses stealth a lot M/H/S 2/1/2 every 5 level or 3/1/1

With regards to your perk build, why would an assassin using bound weapons need to spend 8 points in Smithing, 10 in Pickpocketing (who said anything about stealing?), and the perks for the restoration glitch?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, now I see.

Yeah, I'm not a glitch-gamer, I use the perks needed and play the game properly. Each to his own, and if people want to play that way, that's fine, but the restoration glitch is the most (numbers-wise at least) effective way to build any character, so when offering advice I don't even mention it.

That's why this forum is so good though - variety of opinions.

ahahaha actually i was suggesting to steal if the enemy got better weapon 8 points in smith if ever needed for daedra or something glitch who said about glitch ahaha anyway just apparel with enuf enchantment is good enuf we dont wana ruin the game by OP equips right? the smith is entirely optional depending on armor used alchemy for poison enuf to kill as an assasin as far as i remember without glitch u can obtain 50% to 75% in 2 school(using ring, necklace and headgear 25% each) of magic so no harm done there ahahah

Ahh okay, the combination of alchemy, enchanting and smithing set off alarm bells for me. Google 'fortify restoration glitch' if you haven't heard of it, it basically allows you to craft infinitely powerful items. Some people use it on every character, but I don't really like the idea as I'm more of a role-player.

Yeah good points, although the thread starter said that he didn't want to use enchanting, and very little smithing. So that's why I left them out :)

oh that part ahaha then use robes ahahah buy some 25% less cast but u can only atain 50% for each school + utilizing armor so thats headgear and ring 25% or 20% for illu and armor and necklace for the conjure?

Once you get to high level you can find things like circlets, rings, necklaces, etc that can provide something like 25% reduction as levelled loot once you get to level 40. If you had robes, circlet, ring and necklace all with 25% reduction, you could effectively halve the cost for your two most expensive schools, or have one for free. Which is useful :p

well then i guess thats about right.. actually I'm experimenting on this one i like bound sword and bow at the sense its leveled weapon and light armor enough for my defense if needed robes are good too with scale spells and in addition i like being a vampire on this one

HA! That is my default world-beater build I use when I don't feel like a challenge. Almost perk for perk except that I don't bother with the Soul Squeezer side of the tree. Waste of perk points imo. Had no idea that it was a standard-type build but it stands to reason. It almost makes the game too easy. Especially if you dedicate a few points to Sneak. That build is almost broken as is, with sneak it is bah-roken.

Oh yea. Been using the Rune perk and Ahzidal's Helmet (throw runes further). OMG. Fun, fun, fun. See a nice peaceful bandit camp a few hundred yards away? No problem, throw on the helm and send a Rune right into the campfire. Frickin hilarious. Top of the watchtower got a few archers? No problem... BOOM!

I love it.

The best is when I see a pack of wolves start mauling a deer I'm tracking. That's my kill. BOOM! Kill em all and grab the pelts.

My favorite character is an illusion archer-conjurer assassin. 300 magica is plenty if you use light armor. She wears Elven Armor and uses Windshear and the Blade of Woe, so while her smithing is maxed, she only has steel/elven /arcane smithing perks.

I started with light armor, sneak, illusion, and bound bow, then atromancy, then worked in dual wield and block for the elemental resistance. She doesn't bother much with illusion any more. I'm enjoying the dual wield the most lately, but i do enjoy the passive silent casting.

I've created a character build like this one before. You can read it in my Guide to Unique Character Builds under the Assmancer when I get it up. Yes that's what I call this build. It was either that or Necrosassin and Assmancer sounds way funnier

I've never built an assassin before but why all the health? Isn't the point of being an assassin to kill with stealth and avoid getting beat up? Seems to me a true assassin would build up stamina in case things got hairy and you had to run for the hills.
So I didn't Have to run. Sure it's fun and all, but it's also nice to go on a spellsword rampage every once in a while.

Understandable. I tend to neglect adding to health, rarely adding to it for any type of build. I figure it's the one thing that can keep me mortal in the midst of all the immortal-type power available to wield. If I were to build a dedicated assassin, he would be the biggest wimp in the world... physically. :)
