I took on a giant once...took a club to the solar plexus.

Haha, great to see someone embarking on the Skyrim adventure!
Anyway, onto Giant topic...

First day (it was night actually) playing, was just told to go to Bleak Falls Barrow. Instead of going the right way, I ended up going in the exact opposite direction. I ended up being attacked by vampire fledgings! Still weak, I was running around wildly trying to survive. I saw this great big creature, and, since I was about to get killed by the vampire fledgings, I ran for the thing, hoping it would save my life from the evil vampires. I ran up to it, it turned around. I looked up, and saw the Giant. I wasn't readying its attack, so I thought it was friendly. I turned around, facing the vampires with my new ally. 1 second later I had become the first man to enter space.

Since then I'm a lot stronger, there is no way I would get killed by those fledgings, they only one the first time because I hardly knew the controls. Even though that one giant killed me, I think they are awesome. I believe that they don't attack you sometimes, if they are not at a camp or something, and I like to walk right up to them if they are friendly and take a look at 'em. Pretty cool!

...I'm having such a tough time understanding that I don't even know what to say lol. You're talking to someone who console commands cash into her pockets lol.

Tut! *chuckles*

Seriously though, it does touch on an aspect of Bethesda games which I find a little annoying. Put simply, for me personally, I find that there's too much loot and that it's too easy to become unrealistically rich from an RP point of view. I had the same issue with F3 and FNV; too many Caps. In the end I start throwing it away (dumped 20,000 septims into a corpse in Skyrim a couple of weeks back) just to add some sense of 'fighting to survive' immersion to the game.

Seriously, Bethesda. Stop furiously shovelling stuff at me... :p

As it is, I've ended up making a settings mod to render looting to sell goods pointless as merchants pay 0 septims for it. And I'm still acquiring silly amounts of money doing quests...

I never felt that I had that issue with Dragon Age: Origins though. That was way better balanced, cash and general loot-wise.

Why is the alto wine always gone?
once your character hits like lvl 40 i think the DB quests u get to kill random ppl from the night mother pay 1000 coin.....nothing to spend coin in game really, i mean you can take a carriage ride but those are cheap like under 100 coin, i wish they had made a gambling hall in skyrim I mean the kajihts mention a game they play, just can't remember the name

I have to agree with lots of people on this thread regarding the coin, i just started a new character, (an experiment one) just done a little dungeon looting, little enchanting no smithing or alchemy, im at level 9 and ive got over 11,000 gold,, FFS Bethesda just chill on the coin side, just make it difficult because IMHO it would add another dimmension to the game, for example, iron daggers worth nothing, iron armor worth 10 gold,an enchanted item such as soul trap sword worth 200 gold but the houses about the same 5000+ gold, and rewards for quests either skill perks or 250 gold, the example of this is the lizard woman in Riften who needs a potion of health cuz shes a skoomer junkie, give her a potion worth 17 gold (resale) she gives you a ring worth about 300, come on that just doesnt stack up to me, or am i missing summat, just think about it, you were a prisoner in rags about to get your head chopped off, 2 hours later your thane of a hold with a house you paid 5000 gold for and another 1200 in decorations and all you did was pick a few flowers, kill a draugh and a dragon, i wish were i lived the streets were pathed with as much gold, ;)

well thats my 2 cents guys, , just an opinion .

Yeah see I have this problem....I'm addicted to owning real estate, and incredibly little patience to boot. Thus the reason I console command money in lol.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
Neveraine already gave you good answers but I do have something to add : dragon and daedric armors are the best and you can enchant them as you please, however, if you want an armor already enchanted and probably one of the best out there, get the Ebony Mail from the Daedric Prince Boethiah. It is a heavy armor and enchanted with Muffle effect as well as a unique area effect that inflicts 5 points of poison damage per second on the health of nearby opponents. It can be improved with Ebony ingot and it is awarded to you by Boethiah for completing the quest Boethiah’s Calling.
This armor will turn black and will start to expel the poison fumes as soon as you are to be in contact with the enemy so it is like making you awareness of their presence so you can stay alert from the moment that starts doing that so you know for sure that you will face an enemy pretty soon.
Also, about the money, I would save it to buy your first house in Whiterun for 5k. In my opinion, you need that house from the very beginning of the game to store your stuff because you will collect a lot of items that you would like to keep for future. Happy gaming ...
Agreed! It may take you a bit to be able to create ebony, daedric and dragon armors (you're only level 16), but the Bothia ebony mail is great.
You will also always be warned of enemies or danger and you look all steaming cool!
. The quest is pretty lame, but it is fun in a dark and twisted sort of way. :)

I brake for blue butterflies
Currently a lvl 16 Nord warrior and seem to be doing ok although I've yet to look at anything related that might clue me in on most of the stuff. I have a few questions though:
1. What level should I confront the vampires?
2. What armor is rated the highest?
3. What are the strongest animals you will encounter?
4. How the hell do I get rid of all the money I have saved (over 5k lol)?

.....Hi all!

I'll take a stab.

1- As soon as humanly possible as vital NPC's will die in bunches if you aren't careful. I basically lost the entire town of Falkreath last night. Wasn't pleased.

2- Don't get hung up on armor types. All armors can be improved in one way or another to max defense so go for looks and improve/buff

3- Sabre Cats as they are sneaky, fast, hit hard and can be found in packs (most I've encountered at once is 3)

4- Just keep saving it. You will go through a massive soul gem phase most likely and your money will disappear.

...hello

Well, was playing only 4 hours ago and funnily enoigh I came across a giant almost hand in trunk with a mammoth. Now my first thought was Eyore (with a trunk) and winnie the pooh. My second thought was im level 9 I can take them on! I gave up as little was working! Got clubbed in the end! To top it off when I reloaded I got caught unawares by some bandits ( my hobby is to spring on tgem!) And then got mullered by a sabre cat!
