Just wondering if I give my follower a weapon with soul trap and a bunch of empty soul gems, will they fill them? I want this because I have noticed that when a follower uses an enchanted weapon, the uses don't go down. Knowing that, this could be an unlimited source of gems, with none wasted to recharge the weapon itself, or wasting an echant for soul trap :p thanks in advance! :)

Yes you can do this. I do this with Lydia and I give her all empty soul gems I find our just use. She fills them up quickly, and I get to enchant my Staves easily. It's a good 'exploit' if you would call it that :p

It's also a good way to protect against accidently filling big soul gems with small souls. Just only give the follower the petty and lesser ones!

It used to be that followers would even fill a whole stack of gems at once, but they seemed to have fixed this, at least :cool:

As of yesterday Lydia would still fill every soul gem in her inventory with the soul of whatever she killed, assuming it fit the soul gem of course, but she still filled all of the gems I had given her. Very useful to fill those weaker gems for recharging or leveling enchanting early on :)

You can drop those....say...Lesser Soul Gem (petty) on the ground and the soul gem will empty.

When making a soul sucker, drop the magnitude to 1 second and your uses will go over a thousand. Mine was 1400 hits until I needed to recharge.

Nah, I'm anti-exploit. If I screw it up, I just live with it.
