Killing Giants for a Foot Fetish!

I've recently taken to killing all the giants I can find for their toes. Is that wrong? I'm not even supposed to be a bad guy, but their toes are so useful and they carry SOOOO much gold!

I did that in one game (but for their and their mammoths' souls) and they stopped respawning. Apparently you can drive them to extinction. Who knew?

I get random giant encounters along the road from Whiterun to Rorikstead. You know you're becoming a badass when you stop avoiding them and start seeking them out. My new favorite tactic is to sneak up to a giant camp and dual cast Frenzy on either a giant or a mammoth and wait for the dust to settle. So far it's like getting Giant Toes for nothing. Mammoths own them every time. Kinda surprising since giants have that club slam attack that does a lot of damage and has a tendency to send things into orbit.

Speaking of which, I was up at the mammoth hangout to the east of Windhelm and found this poor Khajit and her horse and cart totally slaughtered and overturned. I really felt bad for her. Of course her chest had a number of potions, quite a bit of cash and a lot of potions as well as quite a few books, so it turned out great for me, but that poor girl... I wonder what got her? Probably a mammoth, but ya never know...

I agree they are peaceful guys and I don’t kill them for sport but when they get in the middle of me killing a mammoth. I do like mammoth and they are peaceful too, but if I want to have a GRAND SOULD GEM filled with GRAND SOUL, they are the way to go and for sure, your soul gem will be filled with a Grand Soul Gem and you need those, for enchanting purposes. If you are killing giants because you need their toes, don’t feel sorry, that’s the game. I don’t know what type of effect you are getting from a giant toe but if there is not other way to get the same effect and you need it, then I guess you have not choice my friend. You are cool !!

The Giant Toes really help with high level invisibility and enchantment stuff. They really up the anty on them. I have so many invisibility potions now (confidentially, I'm saving them for my Black Brotherhood adventures!) and, basically, I can up anybody's magika through the roof (I have a Khajit that works for me from Winterhold College that has a bunch of them and I just gave him a 100% regeneration dragon mask to use, so he's a pretty formidable companion).

I'll have to try the killing mammoths for grand souls thing though. I usually get them from bears (usually but not always) and the occassional troll, but hey! let's try something new! Thanks for the tip.

Not problem bro. If you want Grand Soul filled with Grand Soul, do not waste your time and find all mammoths and kill them. I guess this is going to work pretty cool for you because you are going to kill those giants guarding the mammoths. Double killing and you get both ingredients for your game. Happy gaming bro.

Yeah. I ran into one with my newest character yesterday, and thought he could take it on. After running to a safe distance to fire a few more arrow, I turn around in time to see the giant send Fendal flying and then a split second later, my guy was flying too. A rather graceful way to die, really.

My fav giant random encounter is when I chance upon bandits attacking them near Orotheim because that can get cray-cray. The other day there was two sets sof bandits attacking the giants and their Mammoth, plus a mudcrab and a pair of hunters. Then some of the bandits fled and ran back to the cave, with me, my follower, one of the hunters and the mudcrab pursuing them. By the end of it, only myself and my follower, and one of the mammoths, were still standing.
