why would he eat the world? i like the world, and it's quite difficult to eat. Was he super depressed or something?

Was so happy, about a month after paying for his plops armor, I picked him up all happy to show him the world. I even let him in on my secret.

Then I took him to Solstheim a couple of days later after beating draugr, trolls, etc. Went into Castle Kaarstag. I knew he was hard. I did not know he was that hard.

Erik died, and I cried a little *cough*alot*cough. His body was just laying there.

After buying some armor and convincing his father to let him go, Erik became a mercenary. For some reason I felt sorry for him and decided I would be his first patron. While he was okay in battle, he just didn't seem ready when you talked to him. He still talked like a child and hadn't developed his skills very much. Maybe in time, I will give him another chance when he is older and has a little more experience under his belt...

Obviously he won't level unless he is my follower, this is just the thought process of my character. :p But really, has anyone used Erik the Slayer as a follower? If you did, what did you think of him? If not, why not?

He is light armor and two handed with decent archery. Problem is you cant get him to remove that idiotic ironj armor :/

I really like to take Erik with me, I haven't on my newest play through. But on my last I took him everywhere with me and he did really good. But he finally met his end trying to take back a castle. I had died multiple times and finally barely managed to kill them all in a narrow hall. But unfortunately among the dead was Erik.

Also he did put on different armor, it was dwarven armor.

With the patch 1.9, he will upgrade to better armor if you give it to him. In my Nord's game, he was Vroggi's main follower and wore improved studded and then later scaled armor with no problem.

The patch however did not fix the problem with hiring Erik as steward, as I sadly found out. Even though he inquired to be steward (something I could never get him to do before), once I hired him, he had none of the steward dialogue, so I had to go and load an earlier save. Which is sad--he'd make a cool steward.

I found that if you take away any 2H weapons he is a really good 1H fighter despite being rated for 2H.

He is good with 1 handed but most of his perks go into 2 handed axes/hammers and light armor.
Well I am not strong on smithing, after a year of playing I am still to smith a daedric armor. Before there was hope, but knowing that it will take me thousands of iron daggers to get there... hmmm I feel kinda discouraged :/

You could always drop a ton of Septims on training, and jewelry is easy to make and gives a good boost.

Do rings give bigger boost than daggers :D
And how many gold/silver rings do I need to get to at leas ebony?

Yeah, it's based on cost of created item. Whenever I do enchanting, I max out smithing pretty quick just by accident, since I'm stopping to make rings and circlets every time I get some gems and ore. I don't know exactly how many, but it goes pretty quick when you get into the things that require the more expensive gems.

For Nords like Erik, it's worth it to go up to Advanced Armors. IMO scale is the best armor to go with a barbarian-themed character, and with DB the Nordic Carved set is some pretty killer heavy armor.
