Just heard about the new "Facebook Home" app for Android (only available on select phones). How do you guys feel about this? I'm on the fence. I mean yeah, I'm on Facebook a lot... but enough for an all-encompassing app to take over my phone? Not so sure.

Design wise it looks pretty slick, and it appears to function really well. Buuut, I don't think I'm on board quite yet (despite the free download). I may wait a day or two after release before giving it a whirl (and then uninstall it if I don't like it). Thoughts?

It will be available for download on 4/12.

Ummmh....I'm addicted to Facebook, but I happen to use my phone for way more than just Facebook. My primary use for FB mobile is for chatting, and I have my own app for that which gives me notifications up in the top bar, where I'm perfectly content to have it. TBH I really don't like the people on my friends list enough to stalk them that bad, and my phone is more my portable Google Drive anyway lol. Totally not downloading this. Good idea...for people who actually like people. ;)

I can't remember off the top of my head  It was like 7 newer android phones including the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Note 2.

Well the phone in the video is a HTC, because I have one very similar :)

It looks cool, and if everything I did revolved around Facebook (like some people I know) I would be interested. But it doesn't. I have separate email accounts, events and reminders that have nothing to do with Facebook, photos that I don't want to be shared at the touch of a button, etc, etc.

Facebook are a massive company, and I think things like this are their attempt to push other social media like Twitter out of the spotlight.

It's not for me. Then again, I don't use Facebook like many others around me. To each there own.

I've browsed comment sections of a few different articles and videos, and the general consensus is "Meh". Not so sure Facebook is going to well with this. However I do have to say it's an interesting idea, so props to them for that.

There are many functions on my Note 2 that I love that would be lost if I used this; when I take out my Stylus a new screen pops up with Stylus tools, when I plug in headphones a music page pops up, etc. I wouldn't want to lose those features that make my phone awesome.

Like I said in my OP I'll likely download it for a day just to check it out, and then uninstall it, since it's free.
