Toughest Fight (That you survived)

Ok, just to spawn the Ebony Warrior, you have to be level 80. This is basically the ultimate enemy of the game, and all 3 expansions to test how well you did. If he's hard, it's because you didn't do so well. I don't expect any more DLCs after this.

Master raises NPCs' damage, and lowers yours, it doesn't add, or remove Health from stats. So, I guess you could say that effectively, it made you work twice as hard, so he migh as well have had twice as much Health. it does kind of suck that there were Dragons in on it, but just the fact that you were able to disengage for a Fortify Restoration Potion, and requip means it wasn't really that bad.

I defeated the Ebony Warrior by Frost Roading him around Morthal, he never got close enough to hit me. No, it wasn't on Master, but it would have just taken twice as long. Frost Wall isn't direct damage, so it doesn't Reflect back to you, and slows him, so he can't catch you, especially with an unencumbered Altmer. The rest was handled by Magic Resistance, Spell Absorbtion, and Highborn...

I just fought 2 Gargoyles after letting some lady out of a pillar. Maybe not the toughest fight I ever survived, but I still had to fall back on old fashioned Piling tactics. Fall back while she Tanked both of them, and concentrate fire on the weakes one (Because we both pounded it) until it was down to a 3-on-1 (She raised a corpse to help us.) It would have been easier if I wasn't just a level 7 Hunter in Light Armor, I'm sure, but that's really what makes for Epic tough battles in skyrim. Basically trying Not to get so powerful that you have to dial it up to Master just to have a challenge...

The other day their i was roaming the planes outside Whiterun, looking for some Giants to kill as i was really bored.. the next thing i knew i saw two dragon's fighting each other, it seemed as if their battle had just begun as their hp was both basically full, i pulled out my bow and sent 3-4 swift arrows at both the dragons, expecting some easy kills as they were preoccupied at the time, but to my horror, they both turned to me and started blasting barrages of frost and fire at me, i'm playing on Master , level 81 on my main.. most stats maxed, i figured, ah i can take them..
But after quickly dispatching the frost dragon, the other dragon was aided by a giant that was nearby, as i was close to the destination i had originally intended, this battle was harder than i assumed it would be, i never had any companion with me to help distract the giant or the dragon.
but, i used my brain swiftly as i zoomed through my favorites, equipping dragonrend and rendering the dragon mortal and grounded, then equipping Unrelenting Force and forcing the giant onto his back, i turned around and quickly started sending fireball after fireball at the dragon till he was dead, i then absorbed his soul and used it to power the last word of Ice Form , using that on the Giant, i managed to fire enough arrows and fireballs at him to kill him.
Fair to say, i was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

When the greybeards point me to the first word, it's always the one where Otar is, he was by far the most difficult dragonpriest for me to deal with.
Then there was my encounter with the Ebony Warrior. I had heard the stories and seen a couple of videos beforehand, so I decided to prepare after I hit level 81. I also decided to fight him one on one, no conjuration spells, no followers, and on master difficulty. I decided to use dragon scale armor, enchanted for my fighting style, armed with a dragon bone sword and bow, also enchanted, and brought along miraak's sword. I also used the black book to rearrange my perks. My dragon bone sword had a base damage of 245 plus 100 fire damage and 100 frost damage. I got my ultimate healing, magicka, and stamina potions and headed out for his last vigil, had to kill a blood dragon and two gargoyles on the way. Then there he was, the infamous ebony warrior, so I dual cast ebony flesh, and used the dragon aspect shout. I started things out with the drain vitality shout, then started hacking away at him with my sword only to realize we were stalemated. I started to get nervous as the fight dragged on, I'd have to go without dragon aspect if it wore off, I refrained from using my paralysis poisons, but I had some lingering damage health poisons that I made. They helped to tip the tide in my favor. as he started to get weaker and weaker I switched between using my spells and my sword. About 5 minutes after the fight started, he drew his last breath, and I was victorious. He fought well and I still have his armor mounted in my armory. Best part, I did it all in one try.

Doing the quest Nobody Escapes Cidhna Mine, I decided to kill all of the prisoners after speaking to Madanach. My god it was nuts, so glad that my one handed went up just enough to get a level up while the Bretons were throwing fireballs at me.

Was walking out of the cabin that you get taken to by Astrid when my first ancient dragon attacked. I had to hide behind rocks and trees to survive (playing on Master). All the ancient dragons I encounter tend to fight me in forest areas, so the fights are pretty interesting- I'm always running behind stuff.

I've fought two at the same time before, and if you got the dawnguard add-on they throw in revered and legendary dragons that are even worse. And for a while dragons had some sort of fixation on the college of winterhold.

Well first, keep in mind that I play on legendary, with mods that increase spawns, makes enemies level with you up to 81, gives them the ability to heal with magic/potions, improves dragon ai etc... So I highly doubt that sort of situation could happen in vanilla skyrim.
I was at the stone near Dagon's shrine, when I see three named dragons come out of nowhere. They refuse to land for more than 5 secs even when I use dragonrend, they paralyse me almost constantly, and then a giant runs in, lucky enough my followers and my dremora lord takes care of it before it gets to me and the dragons. A couple of minutes late, I'm almost done with one of the dragons when three dremora lords from the nearby shrine of Dagon decide to join in. After that a couple of bears join in too. When I'm finally done with the second dragon, a dozen or so bandits decide they want in too. The last dragon is about 3/4 full of health when he decides to fly away, so I follow him, with a few remaining bandits. The dragon stops near a mountain, so I take care of the remaining bandits and then go meet him there. What do I find? Looks like the dragon has some backup, another named dragon joined him . I did finally get their souls, but the whole fight must have lasted at least an hour and a half...

The final battles in the Dawnguard and Dragonborn questlines. Alduin is NOTHING compared to those.
I don't even want to know what they're like on a higher difficulty, because Novice was almost too difficult for me...

My toughest fight by far is with my Altmer High Elf. I am not sure what the guys name was, but in the Dragonborn DLC, I had to fight him to finish the quest "March of the Dead" and at first I thought that the final boss would be somewhat easy to deal with, even if he had those damned ash-spawn near him; however, I was in for a rude awakening when I realized that at level 29 with over 200 heath, he could still one hit one kill me. I think it was mostly due to his two handed weapon having an extremely powerful enchantment on it that absorbed 70 health points on top of its base attack.

Yeah, the final battle in March of the Dead can be tough. I went running in there like a total n00b, with my level 32 Dunmer, thinking I'l hit him fast and hard and get this over with." Nope. It took a few tries on Epert level to beat him, but thanks in no small part to arcurio who blasted teh Ash Spawn with shock spells while I battled the boss. It was quite wild, I recall--between Marc's shock spells and teh Ash Spawn's fireballs, most of the fight I could barely see anything and had to follow the quest arrow to know where to hit!

While this wasn't the hardest fight ever, it was impressive: in Tayvalyn's game, I'm doing no dragons, so when I go to a dragon roost, I usually run into low level baddies like skeletons. But yesterday I went to Autumnwatch and encountered a group of bandits. The three lackeys were easily killed, but I ran into the chief in the larger tower and of couse my follower wasn't there to help. I guess with the equip this chief spawned with ( a Dwarven shield, Nordic Carved armor with a war axe with a frost enchantment) compared with my Wood Elf's gear (mix of legandary Elven and Scaled plus Bound Sword, no protective enchantments), he was tougher than usual (also he was an Orc). I think we battled up and down the tower steps for over two in-game hours, with me observing my rule about potions (to drink a potion I have to retreat out of melee range). Lots of dancing in that fight--pretty satisfying by the end of it. Tayvalyn improved in so many skills she levelled up nearly a whole level in that one fight.

So I have this kinda overpowered assassin. With an 100 damage dagger and the ancient shrouded gloves I was thinking i could one-shot him.I even drank a frortify maraksmanship potion to get more dmg(it works for 1h as well).

Big mistake.

After I saw that he was alive and well i drank an invisibility potion but he paralyzed me.

2nd try , I made it up a moutain trying to snipe him , I was succesful but he saw me and killed me with a single arrow. Finally i defeated him but hardly ... I believe I used the werewolf :/

The first quest the Companions sent me on involved a Falmer cave with a Dwarven Centurion in the last room. I didn't expect the game to throw that one at me so early - I was all of level 6 at that point, with a character who is more hack and slash than magically inclined.

I believe my exact words were "What the f---! Are you f---ing kidding me?? You son of a wh---." I am such a classy lady when I play games.

Yet I lived to tell about it. I had to knock the difficulty down to Novice, though. *hangs head in shame* I shot the Falmer with an arrow to lure him away from the Centurion before I killed him, then I took care of the Centurion (eventually) with a combination of my sad little shock spell and running away to heal myself.

Is that fur coming out of your ears?
The Ebony Warrior on Expert level vs. my light armor assassin took me three attempts to counter his machine gun shouting at me...easily the hardest fight I ever eventually survived!

I believe mine was in Blackreach. A Wispmother, her Wisps, and several leveled Falmer. The number of times where my health bar was a mere sliver - almost invisible on my screen - seemed staggering.

I don't have any particularly notable ones on my main character, but the toughest fight for me (on my argonian character who was lvl 5) was Jaree-Ra and his bandits, lol. Had to reload like 10 times (so not sure if that actually counts as "surviving") and in the end I didn't even try and finish them all off. Just killed Jaree and then jumped off into the water before the others could hurt me, lol.

I'll echo what many have said thus far and say that the Ebony Warrior is without doubt the toughest fight in Skyrim. On higher difficulty levels, bring potions. You're going to need potions. Oh, and lots of potions.

In the core game, the fight with Malkoran at the end of The Break of Dawn was particularly nasty as well.

Not to mention those cocksucking charus hunters in the dawnguard dlc.I once played with an warrior the thieves guild storyline(yes , the thieves guild storyline with a warrior , I didn't sneak at all) and there was this quest where you were with Nightingale buddies sneaking your way trough a falmer ruin. There was this room reeking with falmer , charus hunters and even a centurion.

At first it was kinda easy , the falmer didn't bothered with me , they just attacked the centurion , but then 2 charus hunters errupted from nests and attacked me.God, I hate those things!Karliah and Bryn got knocked out so I was left to tank.By the end of the fight with them and several falmer that got in the way I managed to escape with a piece of health. As I heared screams coming i turned the camera around and I saw bryn and karliah falling down to rest while that fluffing centurion rushed at me.Then he attacked me and left me with just a small piece of health and then he just died.He died.He simply died.I beliave it's from the reflect blows perk in the heavy armour. My luck!
