And Stone is completly correct, Virus scans can be faked VERY easily. I post on a lot of forums and am a Hack Forums member, i joined HF to become a hacker, but then realised that was not for me, i much prefer to make apps and make people happy. I get far greater enjoyment from a nice comment on my hard work then a nasty message for infecting someone.
Anyway i'll share a few tips, If you ever susspect a program, check the virus scan obviously lol, but don't believe it, its VERY easy when you know how to bypass ANY anti virus system, The commerical anti virus systems pray on the weak, and profit on the insecurity of others.
The best possible protection is you and a few programs ill share knoladge on now..

Comodo Firewall : (5 star)
Simply the best protection you can get on the market, every single action on your PC is watch and flagged and give you the choice to allow or deny the action.
Example : You download a key generator..
Comodo pops up asking you do you want to allow the application to connect to the internet, you say NO,
As why would a keygen need internet access?? It would not... saved yourself getting infected form a downloader disguised as a keygen...
Sandboxie : (5 Star)
Similar to comodo as in it check every action but also puts the application into a separate partition or special reserved space to run the app so if it is infected it will have no access to the rest of your computer.
That's Safe, for maximum protection a combination of both is advised, then NOTHING will infect you unless YOU allow it...
As ever on the internet "trust no one, question Everything" then you will have the best tools for keeping safe, your knowledge and educated choices...
Hopefully that will give you a heads up on your safty and hopefully shead a bit of light on the type of person i am..
