Chaurus freak me out a fair bit. That clicking... oh god.

And the Lurkers and Seekers from Dragonborn are deliciously nightmarish.

I don't like any of the spiders. Must be in relation to my IRL hate towards spiders. The worst is the huge one you meet in Bleak Falls Barrow!

Well I agree on most of your posts... but there is on creature that made me jumpy more than any of the scariest looking you guys have mentioned in all of my play time. And that is fox.

When ever I'm outside sneaking trough wilderness (I play on master without armor), that cute little minding their own business foxes coming from behind makes me edgy. When I hear that certain noise while they are running. It always makes me draw my weapon to defend myself... when I turn and there is just a fox.

Definitely a tie between a frost troll or a dragon priest.. They both make me cringe

why arent giants scary anymore?

Probably because they aren't actually scary unless you're the type of player that wants to kill everything you see.

I'd seen lots of giant videos and giant horror stories before I played Skyrim, so naturally the first five times I saw one in game I used to panic and sprint away at top speed. Then I realised they weren't trying to attack me.

Now, I don't even bother walking around giant camps. I just put away my weapons and walk right through them. They never care. They just calmly watch me walking past their livestock, mammoth cheese, fires and chests and never get aggressive. More than once I've bought down a dragon, then turned to see a completely non-hostile giant right next to me. Giants are bros, and bros aren't scary.

I'm quite sure those first five I met in the game watched my panicked retreat in complete bewilderment, wondering what in the world that strange little elf was so frightened of.

Not many things are that scary in Skyrim for me, except the occasional Skeever jumping at me just as I turn around and get it in the face. Oblivion though... I wouldn't travel at night in Oblivion

Mannequins

I forgot about them... I was so scared. Walked into my Markarth home to put something on the Mannequin and it turned and faced me... I fired so many spells, fire, lightning, frost, Fus Ro Dah. Nothing can stop the Skyrim version of the Terminator... I ran so fast out of there and never went back to that house.

LURKERS

Because evil fish-monster demons just ain't right.

Those damn Lurkers. I made the grave mistake of underestimating their fearsome appearance, thus rushing one at a relatively low level. Death was imminent.

Wispmothers. They're both frightening and fascinating.

I think the spiders are cute in Skyrim. Their heads are bigger than their bums which makes them look cartoonish, and they make funny squishy noises when they scamper around :p
