Skyrim Marriage Counselor
What are some random things you believe about Skyrim (or TES in general) that has no support in the game whatsoever?
I can think of two off the top of my head:

1) Lydia was born and raised in Rorikstead (I don't know why I like that idea, but whatever)
2) You can use fire salts to quickly warm up your bath. Don't put too much in, or you'll scald yourself. This generally isn't used for cooking due to the funny taste the salts give to food.

The Dragonborn didn't absorb Alduin's soul because Molag Bal took it to make him his new champion (see my fanfic, Solknight II)

Tulius and Ulfric act like they hate each other to hide the fact that they are in love.

The Nerevarine and the Hero of Kavatch were the same person (again, see Solknight II)
(this idea was scrapped. it is now part of my head cannon that Nerevar was the father of the Hero of Kavatch)

The Thalmor act so snobbish because they are jealous.

The Dragonborn is so powerful because he/she is the One (see The Matrix)

Hardly anyone recognizes you as Dragonborn because the Men in Black wiped most of the
people's memories.

There is a lot more, but it might spoil what's coming up in my fanfic. ;)

The Hero of Kvatch is Sheogorath...............................wait, that is actually true.
Eh, not for my main character, at least. My head canon there is that the Hero of Kvatch became the Divine Crusader, while one of the Blades (Baurus, maybe?) went to the Shivering Isles.

Sigurd isn't just an employee, he's actually Belethor's boy toy.

I like the Fire Salts one. I wonder if I could snort them? :)

Helmet enchantments causes you to get migraines and if worn too long damages the brain.

If you become a werewolf you have to shave twice as often.

That's all I've got for now, good thinking with the fire salts one. :p

The Thu'um hurts the Dragonborn's throat, hence the delay between Shouts.

Ooh, I like that.

I totally thought that as well! Although I kind of had in-game reason to think that. Once on the dot of eight I went into Belethor's shop which hadn't yet been locked so I assumed I had a few minutes to sell stuff. But Sigurd instantly started screaming: "Can't a man get a few minutes privacy?! GET OUT!" Sorry, sorry, didn't mean to interrupt your special time...

I also am convinced a whole bunch of hold guards are in love with me. That's why they are always telling me how nice my armour is, complimenting my skills, asking me to brew them ales or enchant their blades, letting me know they are completely up to date about my adventures, telling me to stop lollygagging when I am spending too much time hanging around other guys, asking me to conjure up warm beds or making a point of saying they've heard about me and my 'honeyed words'.

I also believe General Tullius thinks I'm a hardened criminal, but doesn't care because he wants someone good at killing in his army.

Well, it's obvious that Delvin is smitten with Vex. I'm convinced she actually likes him back, but is employing her abrasive ways and playing hard-to-get. Crafty gal, that one.

Dirge is probably a sniveling wimp on the inside.

Legate Rikke and Ulfric were once on the same side, but I also suspect they once had a thing going on. The mournful tone in her voice when he's struck down tells it all.

Skooma degrades your cognitive ability over an extended period of time, rather than immediately. This is why you feel no immediate effects when you drink it.

Elsweyr is the drug trafficking capital of Tamriel.

Delphine has never gotten laid, but has also rejected Orgnar's subtle advances.

This is more of a theory, but I imagine that genetics are different in the Elder Scrolls universe than in our universe. For one, even though most marriages in Skyrim are purely homogeneous, I assume that there have been some interracial marriages (at least for the human and elven races; I don't think humans or elves can copulate with Argonians or Khajiit). If this is the case, then I imagine the the offspring of the two parents is either one race or the other; a mix would be rare and recessive. Perhaps most races are simply more drawn to other members of their race, at least as far as Skyrim goes. A Nord marrying an elf would probably be considered a heretic by the Stormcloaks, whereas the Legion probably wouldn't care. It's a strange topic, but it's something I've been thinking about.

I also got that impression.

Is that fur coming out of your ears?
When Lydia is your follower and disappears for 3 days, it's because she snuck off on a 12 hour sweet roll binge.
She spent the next 2 days laid up at an Inn, with diabetic shock, waiting for her blood sugars to normalize.

That's why everytime she returns home, if you'll notice, she looks 10 pounds fatter!

Another one is Hadvar and Ralof. They're both from Riverwood and probably were best friends growing up. Now they're sworn enemies.

Camilla in Riverwood is really a guy in drag (take a look)

I might have thought that, if it hadn't been for seeing the horse walking back down the ramp from their upper level. o_O (No pl***, he really went up there...maybe to get away from a dragon or something)

Totally stealing that for my fanfic.

I also believe that Ralof and Hadvar were best friends when they were younger.

Potions come in tiny 5ml bottles that look just like Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's perfume oil bottles:

Speaking of scents, I imagine each of the cities to have very distinct scents; for example, Riften would smell of waterlogged woods, stagnant water, pine trees, rusted gold, mead, honey, and fish.
