Well in a sense using a keyboard and mouse would make things better. I say this because of control. You can control your character better with your hand vs your thumb. And with hotkeys you can click a button and directly go to something specific, instead of accidently doing something else. (Then again this possible on PC too). The major upsides of a PC vs console, is modding and cheats. Of course cheats could easily ruin the game if used in a abusive way. Modding can fill all sorts of kinds of roles. Anywhere from adding things bethesda won't add that everyone wants, to making questlines lot longer and harder (Such as the companion quest.) Adding new areas, weapons, armor, character skins, mod patches, additions, tweaks, graphical enhancement, or just all out new content (Like a addon DLC worth). There is just so much more to offer on PC, and there is far more control in it also. Problem with more flexibility over your controls? Keyboard, hitting the wrong hotkey, memorizing them all, separating whats basically combined in controllers.

There is plenty of ups and downs. however I personally like the unlimited (pc skyrim) vs limited (console skyrim)

I prefer using a controller to any game. I grew up on consoles, not PC, so controllers feel more natural to me. I can't imagine relaxing in my lazy-boy and exploring Skyrim with a keyboard on my lap and a mouse on the armrest.

I prefer the comfort of a controller, but the precision aiming of a mouse. Some of those archery shots would be infinitely easier, I would think, if I attached my mouse somehow for temporary use!

I'm getting thoroughly drenched in my XBox copy before I purchase it for PC. Then mods will be an absolute must :)

With controller the best you could do when died, is throw your controller away and pick it back right up. But with keyboard and mouse you can been angry with it, but it not going nowhere.. unless you take an effort to take it all out.

Joke aside, for me I prefer keyboard and mouse, because its from the first person view, you had much better experience looking around with mouse compare to with controller stick.

Maybe most of you have bad/standard mouses, mats and keyboards?

Just saying... my mouse is smooth and it's a MUST for professional gaming...

I can't stand using a controller for FPS view, I find it some much harder to use and the mouse makes movement so much more free. There is a reason why FPS MMOs don't put console and pc gamers in the same servers :p

I play on ps3 and don't have a computer that can run this game, but I think key board and mouse if not just for the accuracy of the mouse ever try catching butterflies with the controller? With a mouse it's click click click done with the controller its click" dang " oh well ill just buy my portions

No option for both?

I find that when I'm sitting at my computer desk, I forget that I even have a controller, but when I want to lean back on my couch, I wouldn't even try to use a keyboard over a controller.

Defenitly PC! The only thing I like to play with controller is football (for americans: soccer).

Skyrim feels as if its meant to be a console game but they just put it into a computer screen (not saying thats a bad idea i have it for pc) but that means that it is SO MUCH EASIER to use an xbox 360 controller if you dont have one go to your local jb-hi-fi or dicksmith

Depends on the game. I used to swear by PC for shooters, but now I enjoy them on Xbox. I absolutely refuse to play RTS games on anything but the PC, however.

You guys make good points and Zephlar, I was wondering if anyone would think of that idea ^^ Also, I DESPISE Xbox. lol. And by the way of errors, consoles barely get any :3 Except maybe Xbox, because their design is so crappy... RED RING OF FREAKING DEATH??!! WTF?! PS3 never fail :)

Perhaps you have never heard of the Yellow Light of Death... http://ylodfixrepair.com/ps3-yellow-light-of-death-fix

Yes, the Xbox has had a lot of failures from its first generation design, but the PS3 is faar from perfect. Also, I don't have to worry about my credit card data and other personal info being stolen every other week like PS3 owners do.

The point is, both machines have their pros and cons. Don't be an over-the-top fanboy...it makes you look silly.

The ability to bind unique spells/items to keys on the keyboard make it infinately better than a controller. Heck you can plug in a controller and use the keyboard at the same time.

Random thought. Why do they call a controller a "controller"? Keyboards and mice are controllers too yah know.

Do you guys prefer using a controller to play Skyrim or keyboard and mouse? I prefer a controller as the interface seems to have been designed to be used with a controller. Combat is easier and vibration is a plus.

Post your feedback and vote in the poll.

I prefer using a controller.

I think using a controller is far easier and feels more natural to play with. But the biggest disadvantage I find with console is the lack of console commands that PC gamers can use. I just got a chatpad to connect to my controller for christmas, hoping that I could use the ~ button and type in item codes, but it doesn't work. It can only type characters in normal typing places like naming an enchanted item.
