I've got a script attached to my player in a home-grown quest in legacy Skyrim. Event handlers onInit, onItemAdded, and onItemRemoved in that script do not run. A function in the script runs fine when called from a dialogue script fragment.

Here's the script, gutted of logic. I've compiled and run like this just to see the debug, which of course I never saw:

CK quest editor alias page:

and CK quest editor properties for the script:

Somebody please embarrass me by telling me what silly little thing I've overlooked. What have I missed that would make the events recognized in my script?

Just in case this is pertinent, the papyrus log file contains a multitude of instances of this warning:

  • [03/09/2017 - 02:17:18PM] Warning: Taking longer than 3s to start the New Adoption Event Handler.

Many thanks.

If you have more than 1,000 downloads of you mods on NexusMods.com, try asking your question in the mod help forum, there. They’re extremely helpful.
