Are there any wealthy people in Skyrim with large estates which are guarded by say mercenaries. It doesn't have to be people in big estates, maybe a bandit with a great item in a keep somewhere. Maybe like Goldenglow Estate.

Directions and/or a map (preferred) would be awesome.

Plus they cannot be a part of any quest.

You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.
Maven Black-Briar and her lodge is a good 'un. Has her fair share of mercs and probably some items worth stealing. She has a manor, I think, in Riften but her lodge is outside of the city. Sorry about the lack of a map or directions, but am sure someone here can supply the GPS.

I pickpocket her every chance I get whenever I'm in Riften. :)

If you have the investor perk in Speechcraft you can invest in the Riverwood trader's store ( 500 gold ) and he will have 10,000 gold every 2 days :)

I'm positive that the lodge is part of a quest. I don't recall the name, but it involves getting ownership papers for Frost the horse.

Yep, you're right, Gowsh. As soon as I saw "Frost" in your post, the memories came flooding back. Was a pretty good quest, too.

maven's ok, she is sorta indirect. i'm talking about in the quest, not giving one, thanks dunklunk

what about a really big keep or valuable one, say treva's watch but that is in a quest. get my meaning
