You can run, but you'll only die tired...
    Name: Gelae Angwenyl

    Gender: Female

    Race: Bosmer

Age and Date of Birth: 29, 27th of Last Seed

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Ranger/Druid

Weapons: Gelae uses a Handcarved wooden longbow along with a single edged, drop-point hunting knife. To compliment her weapons she has become proficient in the use of several alchemic substances, including various poisons, sedatives, and even hallucinogens which can severely confuse her enemies. Along with her traditional weapons, Gelae is accompanied by a familiar in the form of a Senche-Panther. Although commonly hunted for their meat and pelts Gelae found a different use for one cub she found while searching or her father. All black, save for bright green eyes and fiercely intelligent, she named her panther Banrion and is perpetually accompanied by the huge creature. Banrion is very protective of Gelae and is a very formidable opponent herself. Gelae is also quite proficient in illusion magic. She often chooses to summon familiars in the forms of various forest creatures to aid her.

Armour: Gelae wears dark brown leather pants and a dark green, loose fitting shirt. Her feet are covered by tall leather boots with soft soles to allow for silent movement. She commonly wears hardened leather bracers on her forearms. To ward off bad weather as well as aid in masking her movements, Gelae wears a brown woolen cloak that falls to mid-calf and scarf which usually covers the lower half of her face.

Combat Preference: With the aid of illusion magic and her skill in stealth acquired through years spent in the forest stalking both game and bandits, Gelae prefers to fight from a distance, remaining unseen while firing arrows with great accuracy. In order to further the confusion of her enemies she enjoys summoning familiars in the shape of wolves and forest cats, which prowl about her targets with glowing eyes, distracting them from her further. This tactic also serves to hide Banrions presence while the huge cat moves close enough to attack. When pressed into a corner or required to get in close, Gelae will make use of her knifes keen edge.

Character Appearance: Gelae is of typical height for a Bosmer woman, standing at just 4 feet and 10 inches. She has a slim, highly athletic build, honed from years spent in the woods and traveling all around Tamriel. Her hair is dark brown and almost always tied in a long braid that falls to about mid back. Her face is thin, as is the norm for Bosmer, with high cheek bones and large, inquisitive eyes of a dark green. Her lips are thin and have a slight pout in the corners betraying her sometimes overly serious nature. A light spattering of freckles adorns the bridge of her nose while a small curved scar is barely visible under the left corner of her jaw.

    Personality:
Gelae typically keeps to her self and says very little unless directly spoken to or if she feels that her input is required. This isn't to say that she is shy however, as she is actually a very curious person who enjoys observing and getting to know her surroundings and those in them. For the most part, Gelae prefers solitude to people and wilderness to cities but she is able to get by when she must, despite making the occasional social blunder. Sometimes, her over active mind causes her to day dream and lose focus if she finds her current situation boring or uningaging. Gelae hates rushing into situations, preferring to have as many outcomes accounted and prepared for as possible. This is no doubt a side effect of exploring so many trap filled ruins in her years spent on the road. She tends to keep people at a distance in terms of relationships, preferring the company of Banrion to most people and the total lack of drama and unnecessary interruptions to her thoughts.

Likes: Exploring, history, animals, coffee, rum, new experiences, archery

Dislikes: Drama, overly talkative people, cities, mushrooms

Quirks: Gelae can't wink, for whatever reason. She often cleans her fingernails with her knife when bored.

    Fears:
    What she can't see

    Phobias: None

History: Gelae was born in a small village on the borders between Valenwood, Elsweyr, and Cyrodiil. Her family were avid hunters as well as tasked with helping to guard the border. Her father and mother would leave to go scouting regularly, leaving Gelae to her own devices once she was old enough. She would spend much of her time exploring in the forests near the village or hunting when her parents were away. Before she was much older than fifteen she had become quite adept with a bow and soon she made her own, carving it herself with the knife her father had given her. During the summer of her eighteenth year, her father left to scout the border of Elsweyr. He never returned. For the next four years, Gelae searched for him without success. She eventually came to terms with her fathers disappearance but, much to her mothers annoyance, she still occasionally returned to Elsweyr; entertaining a hope, however small, that she might still find him, or at least figure out what happened. It was on one of these trips that she came across the den of a senche-cat. Upon closer inspection she discovered that the parent was nowhere to be found and a small, malnourished cub was the sole inhabitant. Gelae took the cub, figuring that the parent had died and didn't want the same fate for the small creature. Instead of returning home with her new companion, who she named Banrion, they took to the road instead, deciding to leave her home behind in favor of adventure. Over the course of the next five years, Gelae and Banrion explored much of Cyrodiil and Skyrim. Only recently did they set out for High Rock and stumble upon lord Gravus' invitation to willing adventurers. Figuring that she and Banrion fit the bill, the two set out for Crossmore.

Dialogue color: This... ( Third column, third row)

Sorry for being so late with this CC but I hope you all like it. If anyone has any problems with Gelae, please let me know. It's been a little while since I've written a new character.

Awesome, hopefully she's up to snuff! I'll probably do a revised and improved version of her CC in the future but for now I'll try to get an intro post up. I'm thinking it won't be tonight but I should be able to get one up tomorrow.

    Hale Loneshadow

    Well-Known Member
Name: Hale Loneshadow (his real surname is only known to a few close friends in Tamriel)

    Gender: Male

    Sexuality: Heterosexual

Race: Passes as a large Breton (see Character History for full story on my guy!)

    Appearance:

Hale Loneshadow stands a full six feet tall, with a swarthy body and strong broad shoulders. He typically travels with his dark cowl pulled up and over his face, pipe in hand and a sly smile on his lips, inquisitive brown eyes calmly yet consistently scanning his surroundings. He is not lithe, but even though he has a somewhat bulky frame he has learned to move swiftly and smoothly. His dark burgendy cloak, forest green vest and rough-hewn brown boots allow him anonymity, and astride his loyal horse he looks the part of the lord he once was.

    Personality/Traits/Quirks:

Sarcastic and sardonic humor; uses this as both a disarming way to charm friend and foe alike (think Jarlaxle if any of y'all are familiar, I saw some mention of ol' RA Sally!), as well as to lighten tense situations. Occasionally falls into bouts of pensiveness during lulls in action, where he finds a spot and smokes his nirnroot/pipeweed and contemplates his past actions. Can be good, can be bad, depends on the situation. While Hale's jadedness and by extent debaucery occasionally rears its head, in his heart, Hale is still the paladin-ranger he was raised as, and will go out of his way to help any in need. This comes into play as he usually scouts ahead of the group, willingly putting himself in danger to ensure the solidity of the group at whole. Unless, of course, he's drunk/hungover!

Fears: Leaning into his emotions about the fall of his homeland; failure; dying; battling wizards

    Phobias: None, so far...

Likes: Redheaded women, pipeweed, good company and better friends, helping those in need

Dislikes: In his own words, "I fluffing hate wizards"

    Armor:

Sturdy leather breastplate with a reinforced steel plate over the heart/left chest area; has a Skyforged steel pauldron on his left shoulder, a gift from the Companions. Leather boots with a "quickening" enchantment - doesn't give him superspeed by any means, but just enough extra speed once in awhile to give that slight edge to get around a foe's guard. He has his battlehelm from his days back in his homeland, but almost never wears it. He also wears orichalum-reinforced wrist/armguards.

    Weaponry:

His revered bastard sword named Sindar, which has a frost enchantment within it. His greatbow, Toril, is his immediate secondary weapon, which needs no enchantment due to its already magnificent stopping power when coupled with his bodkin arrows. In addition, Hale has two wands (one of fireball, and one of a barrier - fireball takes a day or more to recharge after 3 uses, and the barrier has a very limited range and time).

Gear/other stuff he will carry for this quest:

His beloved horse and companion, Bregan, has always been with him through thick and thin. He will always hear his master's call. The saddlebags carry extra trail food for long term travel, medicinal herbs and potions, rope, a small tent, flint and steel, and of course, a decent supply of wine, pipeweed, and his father's pipe!
His magical belt given to him by his father; with a light flick of the belt buckle, Hale can read the minds of those within a short distance around him (about 20 feet in a circle). So, he's either "readjusting" or getting a leg up on you!

    Character History (buckle up mates):

The story of Hale Loneshadow, known officially as Hale Thelion De'Telemater is neither long nor overtly joyful.

He was born in a far off land, perhaps not even of this dimension, known as Evondale. This was your Arthurian, fantasy-style kingdom (think Numenor + Camelot with a smattering of Rome) which, for thousands of years, held the tide of hellspawn from the Empire of Thylas at bay. Hale was born of an offshoot of the royal line of Telemater, of which his greatest friend, Pelham Telemater, was next in line for the throne. Hale's moniker of Loneshadow came from the commonfolk of the realm, whom Hale would consistently fight for both on the battlefield and in the courts. He walked as a welcomed shadow in the eve whenever a village came under danger from the enemy, never staying too long in one place, but always preferring the frontier villages and wilds rather than his tower loft in the City of Evon.

Throughout the first one hundred and fifty-odd years of his life, Hale grew and matured through many experiences, eventually taking his oath as a paladin after the Second Demon War, after his show of selfless valor at the Battle of Blood Peak, where he and a score of his ranger-brothers held the entrance to the mountain pass in order to allow ten thousand civilians to get to safety. After ensuring the safety of his people, Hale led his surviving men on a final assault against the overconfident Sorcerer-King of Thylas, Garum the Mad, striking down his Spellsword Guard and finally the Mad King himself. At the war's end, he had finally garnered the approval to marry his longtime love, Lady General Vera Immaculus, and set their wedding for the spring of the next year. The demons banished, and orks driven back into the deep mountains, it would seem that Evondale would finally know some peace.

But that peace would not last, for not six months after his apparent defeat, Garum was back once more...

It would seem that, in striking his body down, Hale had played right into the Mad Sorcerer's hands, for Garum had now gained the penultimate favor of his dark gods, and ascended into powers beyond reckoning! Demons by the millions poured forth into their realm, and the many legions of men, dwarfs and elves who made up the grand kingdom of Evondale could all but stymie their own demise. This third, and ultimately final Demon War lasted nigh upon a decade, each side gaining and loosing ground in both the material and astral planes, for it was a war of magick as much as flesh and blood. The War culminated in the epic, continuous, five-month-long Battle of Vradden Plains, where six million creatures of darkness clashed with one million men and dwarves, the elves having long given up the war and moved into parts unknown. Eventually, the forces of good were pushed until their backs were, quite literally, up against the Grand Wall of the Vradden, the massive set of wall and keeps which bordered the City of Evon itself!

In a last ditch effort to save their people, Hale, his father Avalain, his friend and the Prince Pelhamm, and none other the King Artorias Telemater led a secretive charge behind enemy lines against the head of the snake, just as Hale had done now years ago.

This ended in tragedy, and soon the hordes poured forth freely into the beautiful city, and finally broke into the High Keep itself, cutting down the Queen and the court before they could fully make their escape. A final stand was upon the companions.

Before he knew what had happened, his King and his father both lay dead before him, their men slaughtered, and his greatest friend wounded...but alive. Hale himself was locked in a duel with Garum, not even worried for his own survival, for what had he to live for?

"H-Hale.." gasped Pelhamm, clutching his deep leg wound, unable to stand, "just fall down.."

"Save your strength my friend! We must finish him!" The Loneshadow yelled back, blocking another blow from the cackling Sorcerer-King's staff-glaive.

"...No, my friend. We cannot win here...must find another way...just fall back...remember our days at Cerene, and fall down..." Pelhamm replied with strain, and the pull of a hidden lever on the throne, of which Hale and he were holding back the wizard.

Understanding, Hale closed his eyes, and with a final prayer to his God, whipped Sindar around and above his head, smoting Garum's staff and his arm with it, and as the evil sorcerer fell back with a howl and a bloody stump, the Ranger closed his eyes and fell back through the newly created interdimensional portal, to the gods know where. A final look at his oldest friend which implored a combination of pleading, hope, love, and sorrow, and Hale suddenly found himself on a ship sailing a warm sea towards a cold but wonderful land...

Now, a pair of decades later, Hale has become familiar with his new home, even making a small home for himself in the lands of Winterhold. He has gone on many adventures and met many new and interesting folk, though now he finds himself without his old friends, wondering where they have all gotten off too, and upon receiving notice of this supposedly righteous Lord desperate to reclaim his homeland, Hale felt a distinct twinge of empathy and regret, and memories long past flooded back to him. He feels that, perhaps, if he can help this man reclaim his lost home, perhaps Hale's own sins and failures could begin to be washed away...

    @Hale Loneshadow

I don't know if you were meaning your character had my character tailed, but no matter if it was or not, that's not appreciated without asking permission. It's something that would be and should be discussed between writers in collaboration, not just exclusively decided. It's an example of God Modding. If it wasn't my character you were referring to, then I'd ask--in fairness to everyone--that you clarify which character, and make sure it's alright. Not to mention doing so from here on out.

I'd also like to point out the slightly Over-Powered armour your character dons at the beginning of the post. I understand that your character comes from another universe, and that's all well and good. But minerals unknown to the ES universe as well as enchantments with unrealistic resistances seems like it's a little much.

From my point of view, these are some minor things within your post that can and in my opinion should be fixed--as no other character has such things within their possession, for the purpose of general realism.

Not meaning to come across harshly, I enjoyed the post despite these things. I can't in good conscious hold my tongue about said things.

If it is my character that you had followed, I'm going to decline that entire idea. If you read Maelin's CC, you'd know she's not easily fooled, nor would she be easily followed. Especially given I've not eluded to her actions previous to her post, nor her actual whereabouts. I'd consider revising that thank you. If not my character in particular, I'd still consider doing so until you discuss it with everyone first.

Correction about my point about your armour, I forgot that Adamantium is an alternate name for Adamantine in ES 1-3. However, it's rarity and exclusivity in use by the Altmer in a lore still renders my point valid in that sense as well as in the sense of enchantment. Perhaps more realistically something along the lines of Resist Magicka/Spells in a mineral more akin to Mithril would be plenty realistic and believable.

@Specter of Death yeah, I was thinking that as well. Makes more sense. Probably the lighter mithril would be better for Hale's quick movements anyways! I'll edit, good call

That was our last intro, right?

Yes. We were waiting on Screeching Spasmodically, but she messaged me to let me know she'd be focusing on Harkatti's rp. So, I guess have our guys get the introductions out of the way, then I'll have Gravus show up and get us moving.

Much appreciated Specter! In keeping with Gelaes character, I'll wait to post unless someone speaks to her directly or if something requires it.

@Specter of Death Sorry, just read your whole previous post.

I never showed nor made any inclination that Hale was ever tailing Maelin; rather, he was simply waiting in the shadows and observing each character as they arrived. Apologies if it came across as anything else, but that's how it is.

I felt I wrote it clearly enough that, while he certainly suspects her of being a mage (remember, his CC and history have given him quite a bit of experience in recognizing/battling mages!), he does not know anything about her for certain, nor anything concrete about anyone else as of yet. He was simply using his long honed powers of observation and deduction, being a ranger and all.

As to the piece of armor, I have a plan for it that does not in any way involve god-modding or being OP. There will be finite weaknesses to it that Hale does not know about (basically he got screwed over by Theo), ergo, it won't be OP. I should have explained that here before, apologies. I'll run plops like that by here from now on.

You seem to be missing my point. What I am talking about is you having your character trail somebody elses character previous to the events of the RP without permission or prior discussion--and making false assertions. I care not about you reading my character as a mage, that's perfectly okay and acceptable.

"It was the best we could do on short notice, but I think you'll find the information on that one woman particularly useful...take a look. My "man" tailed her for days, posing as anything from a beggar to a barman!" Theo replied with no small pride for his small but well organized ring.

This is the main part I was concerned with in my initial post. It's God Modding, and It's not acceptable. If it isn't my character that you are referring to, but somebody else's, that's beside the point. You need to ask permission and discuss it with the writers involved because you are taking the actions of another's character into your own hands.

I'm not okay with it if it is my character, and if it isn't, you need to ask permission and then edit your post accordingly.

As for your armour, we already came to agreeance on the main issue there, and I already saw you made the necessary changes. Which is much appreciated. That is not god-modding, but it was OP before editing and without clarification.
