The last time I tried to play with a controller it all went south really quick. It just feels so much more intuitive to do it with a keyboard and a mouse. Perhaps someone should give it a try with a racing wheel pad and comment on the experience :p

I never tried playing Skyrim with a controller. I don`t think it would actually work. I need my mouse for proper aiming and accuracy. :D

I love using a controller for most of my Pc games, really. :]
I am really accurate with a controller though. I guess I am just used to it.

I only play games with a controller because I simply can't get used to keyboard and mouse. I'm hopeless and get killed in seconds...then again I'm also a two-finger typist.

I'm also one of those people who leans back in the chair when the player is getting mobbed by scary villains. I've found myself so far from the screen at times that I couldn't have reached the keyboard!

this one uses a keyboard and mouse, and has gone to grate lengths to adapt it to her game as an asset.

some tips for keyboard & mouse game play.
set your mouse speed to default in its options. example this one has a RAZOR ........opens settings and sets it to default

after that you configer mouse speed in the game options, lower or raise it until its speed suites you ..........

HOW to measure this, In game you should be able to preform a 180 degree turn with precision, keep changing settings until this is possible! ...........THIS IS YOUR PERFECT MOUSE SPEED and will make every move you make look elegant

this should fix the 360 degree sniping like mad because of a to sensitive mouse movement

as for the keyboard .............TRY ELIMINATING the A + D buttons for a small period of time until you are very used to only walking forwards & backwards, then slowly introduce side steeping.

if you want to take this all to the next level then try this

for perfect hand eye coordination you have to first achieve balance between the LEFT & RIGHT side of the brain.
this is easy to accomplish. ...........You use two fingers to press all the buttons on your mouse & You should ONLY use two fingers to press all the buttons on your keyboard.
This may sound very silly but it will improve your game play by a good 20% and it all happens subconsciously.........

lastly its understanding real mouse movements and how they are displayed in the game ............a EXAMPLE
going up a spiral stair case ........You may think that you have to move your mouse in a circle movement to achive this, but the reality is that if you want to go up a spiral ........you move your mouse in a strait line across your desk,

below in the video there is a demonstration of precision 180 degree turning in combat, and if you take note that you will NOT see a single side step (not using A+D buttons they are disabled in combat)

Controller. I tried playing with a mouse and keyboard and it soon gave me a headache. Probably because started playing Skyrim on PS3 then moved onto PC, by then I was already used to the controller

How anyone could prefer a controller when playing primarily first person games is beyond me..

Controller for Skyrim, because it has a more relaxed gaming feel. I can just lean back in my chair instead of having to be hunched over my desk.

Keyboard and mouse for competitive games for sure.

My girlfriend is a big fan of controllers, but I can't do without the convenience of 1-9 favorite hotkeys to switch out my spells and shouts and weapons fast.

I have no preference . I play with a controller because its attached to my PS3 which I use because its 99 percent zero problems .

I loath playing strong games on computers and dealing with that virus called windows which as my late father would scream

" Why wont you just bloddy well do what I want ? "

I have played so much using Mouse and Keyboard that I cannot imagine using a controller especially for Skyrim, I did try different games with controllers though and it was a first experience haha!

I've actually played Skyrim for years on the 360 with a controller, and about four or five years later I bought it for the PC and tried out the keyboard/mouse thing... yeaaahhhh. Didn't go so well. Never been killed by a wolf before in Skyrim...

I just plug my controller into the computer and go. I play much of the game in 3rd person as well. I'm weird.

For years I played with a controller on the Xbox 360, eventually buying a PC because I became obsessed with the idea of modding the game. After a while I noticed input lag when using the controller, I thought I'd give keyboard and mouse a go. Its fair to say that my first attempts were pretty poor and I went straight back to the controller. But that lag was still there, so with perseverance I continued and began to enjoy the advantages of keyboard and mouse. That's where I am now having reinstalled Skyrim to give SE a go I find myself reaching the K&M.

I used to play everything on PC, but now I prefer the comfort of my couch, can't be arsed with sitting at my desk for hours anymore. Switching to a controller was a nightmare at first, but I'm getting pretty used to it now. I'm a lot better with a mouse tho, I have to admit. 20 yrs of PC gaming vs less than a year on the console, heh.

Yes, only because I played it on PS3 first so that's what I'm used to. I'm the same with Oblivion, but struggle to get a controller to work via PC for that. Morrowind I play keyboard.
