I posted this directly in the mod page in the comments section, this page appears more active so I'll try here too.

Love this mod but hoping someone can help me figure out how to consistently use the horse call horn. Took me a bit to figure out how to use it in the first place, this is what worked for me. I am playing with an xbox remote, so I select the horn in my inventory and get the message 'you cannot equip this item'. Then I close out of my inventory & use RB which is also shout. I am early in my game, and when I finished Dragon Rising, the horn stopped working . I've logged thousands of hours with this game on consoles but am very new to the whole modding thing, so it may be a rookie mistake or? It seems to stop working when I first use a shout, which would sort of make sense since it's the same button - but you'd think there'd be a way to toggle it or the mod authors wouldn't have mapped it that way. I just cant find it. May be it's as simple as re-mapping the shout button...not sure which one I'd use, seems they're all employed.

I am playing Legendary Edition, as stated - with an xbox remote. My nexus mod manager lists these items, in this order - Amazing Follower Tweaks, Blackthorn (buildable), Book Covers, Convenient Horse Herding, Convenient Horses Alternate Skin Textures, Convenient Horses, Convenient Horses Faster Sprint, Dragon Souls to Perk Points, Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions, Jaxonz Positioner, Legacy of the Dragonborn, Run for your lives, Skyfall Estate & Vanilla Mannequin fix. I got and ran LOOT, which I know very little about but it did move stuff around. Awesome, just noticed they are in alpha order and the LOOT references them differently... told you this new to me. The first time I ran LOOT, it did move stuff - now when I try, it keeps saying 'oh no, something went wrong. you can check your lootDebug masterlist...".

I have saved, reloaded, gone back before the quest and it works fine - done the quest a few more times and same result. I have looked through the mod settings in-game to the best of my ability, and cant find anything to toggle the horn button. I have ridden my horse, fast traveled, alternated between wait and follow - hoping it would kick back into gear. I have activated convenient horses from my power menu, but then my usual application process results in some mod config window popping up. I was hoping if I fully completed the quest then it would start working again but it has not. I have completely exited the game, even rebooted since the issue first came up and it persists. I googled and cant find anyone having a similar issue so maybe it's just something silly that I am overlooking.

Do I need to just suck it up and learn to play with a keyboard/mouse after years of a controller? I'm even more clueless about that whole process than effectively using mods.

In any event, can you help me fix it? Many thanks.

Edit: Loot issue is related to Windows 7, urgrading to 10 on Sunday. Not sure this will fix the horn use issue - but perhaps.

Feel like a spaz. I had read that it's a 'power', activated by using the shout button. What I failed to understand was the power had to be selected via power menu, not the convenient horses 'power' which is what I was trying to use - which did exactly what it was supposed to do by opening the config menu. As dumb luck would have it, the correct power was active until I shouted. Some kind soul was sweet enough to set me straight on the mod page.

Did find out through this adventure though that I do need a windows update for LOOT to continue doing what it needs to do...
