Just a discussion on what you guys like about Skyrim? For me, I've always loved fantasy and that whole medieval-style. So to be able to interact with that world is what I love the most!

That's so true, and the ability to pretty much do whatever you want, go where you want, craft you're own stuff, choose your weapons. Sneak mode, magic, warhammers, bow & arrows. Well the list could go on.

100%. It's nice just to get lost in something. And being a total badass is pretty cool (especially when I can barely run 100 meters irl).

The land coverage is not super huge, compared to Daggerfall :) , but the vast discovery abilities is crazy and the one-off quests to many to count. But what I love the most is it allows me to get away and clear my head in a whole other world set in a time period I love.

Not a huge fan of Skyrim but if I had to pick the thing I like the most... Itd be the Norse inspired culture that's featured in the game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and For Honor. And I'm mostly just bored, but the place seems dead so I'm not coming around as much. Trying not to at least.

The fact that it came out when I was in the 7th grade and I still play it today. And the fact that it led me to this community that I've been with for around 6 years now :)

I'll add to my last that not just in the game but the game engine itself seems to have, and still is, attracting modders and expansioners (just coined a word there lol).
There are at least a dozen DLC's made by fans three of which are huge and now with Cyrodiil being remade in SkyBlivion what is there to not like.

After I make my way through the game and the official 3 DLC's I'm going to load up Lordbound (when it hits), Falskaar and Bruma. And maybe if I feel a little twisted Apotheosis.

I enjoy medieval fantasy, I got into the Elder Scrolls fairly late (prior to Skyrim) with Oblivion. I was going past a game store, saw Oblivion GOTY for ten dollars and decided to try it out. Little did I know how much the game would suck you in, and still does many years later.

What I do love about Skyrim, and indeed the Elder Scrolls is the lore, the ease you can immerse yourself once you begin to scratch what makes up the TES world. I didn't know all that much about lore until I joined these forums and spoke with people here, I guess you could say it was these fourms back in the heyday that made me completely love the game.

Plus I can play as a Mage/Wizard which is my absolute favorite class in any RPG.

Perhaps this is wishful thinking, but I feel like the game's longevity can be attributed to the fact that there are an innumerable number of ways to play it. Mods really emphasize that whole endurance factor too. Every time, the experience I get from playing Skyrim is similar to the one I get from reading an incredible book, except said book's story changes every time.

Yeah the replayablility with mods is amazing. Even mods that don’t add quests, like frostfall, completely breathe new life into the game.

I love the setting and the culture in the game, I love all the options presented and the depth of the guilds, I will say however the guilds were more expansive still in previous elder scrolls titles.

The game just does so much right, and I think I will still play it until TES 6 drops.

There is just no end of ideas for characters. You can literally do anything you want and play any way you want. With mods it just adds so much more to the game. My next character is going to play through the civil war quest then retire in a house in Riverwood. I will spend time there gardening and exploring the nearby areas before getting sucked into the gold dragons claw quest. I'm looking forward to it. Probably going to change my face a bit to make it look like I've retired and spent years around Riverwood and Whiterun hold. Then move to the Main Quest as an older man caught into his ultimate destiny. Ought to be fun!
