LuChao

The Martial artist
OK you slappy wags XD time for the RP build master to restart Skyrim the urge was to great to stay away anyway I will officially introduce you all to
Name: Alfuk Doom-Tooth
Race: Nord
Occupation: Dragon Hunter
Age: 23
Skills: 1 handed, block, archery, speech, smithing
Back Story: Alfuk grew up in Bruma just outside the city walls with his family where his dad was a warrior in the military and his mom was a farm aide and helper in the temple. His family was very well respected for being helpful in every aspect of the cities life. during his childhood he loved reading the stories about dragons and the dragon war that plaqued Skyrim centuries ago. He decided then and there that if Dragons ever returned he would become a hunter and seek the glory of these ancient warriors by taking the dragons down and keeping the land safe. As he grew up the civil war in Skyrim took full swing and his family was assigned to go into the forces leaving Alfuk alone at home to help the city in his parents stead. During this time he got a letter that his parents where killed in action and that he was to report to the battlefield and take his dads weapon for the family armory like the samurai would do. Once he crossed the border though he got attacked and captured the rest of this story is yet to unfold.

You just had to show up, didn't you LuChao? This is really good, especially coming from you. I never think about age, and try to incorporate occupation into the backstory, myself.

Ha! My current RP build is a Vigilant of Stendarr. Mods have made so much more possible on the Xbox. :)

They sure have, though I finally made the move over to pc. It took me a few months to realize I could just get Skyrim on it. Kind of clicked when I was looking at xbox mods, and noticed my alienware looking lonely.

Why? The Vigilant are a bunch of sanctimonious dorks who stand around staring at rocks all the time, while holding torches no less.

I agree. I mean they never really do anything except die in Dawnguard. They are a cool concept but that's it. It's really a shame you can't join them or help them in some way. Hell it would also be awesome if you could've joined the vampires in the destruction of their headquarters but alas another missed opportunity from Bethesda. Course I never tried to join them so I could be wrong on that part but I've never seen any posts on them.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind playing a braindead religious fanatic, as long as they served a purpose. I admire they're Restoration expertise and, frankly, don't really have a problem with Keeper Collete. They're endless hectoring about the daedra would be a whole lot more effective if they ever recognized one, particularly the character, if they were either an egent of or were actually vampires or werewolves, but they never seem to.

I do like killing them though. I get good coin for their robes, hoods and amulets. That or they make pretty good shock troops for my necromancer and aren't nearly as "groany" as some of the others.

Hahahaha .. you guys are missing out on a fun roleplaying opportunity. My vigilant started at the hall (Live an Alternate Life mod) and did patrol rounds and basic duties for a while, then was sent off on a few missions (such as Dawnstar "Waking Nightmare", etc). Now my character has been sent off to Falskaar (new region mod) to establish a new vigilant hall there. I have a vigilant follower (thank you Amazing Follower Tweaks mod) and my character uses only restoration/alteration and an unenchanted mace ... robes/hood and steel armor boots and gauntlets. I currently have finished the Falskaar main quest and did so to obtain the 'reward' of the home in Amber Creek, which I am now turning into a new vigilant HQ. When that is finished I will leave some vigilant recruits in charge and report back to Skyrim. I'm guessing the vigilant hall will have been burned down by the time I return, which will prompt me to travel to Stendarr's Beacon to regroup with the remaining vigilants ... and from there I will pursue establishment of a new hall in each of Skyrim's major cities ... by dealing with the undead and vampires and necromancers and the like. ;)

Just have to use your imaginations .... or you could just roleplay staring at a rock with a torch in your hand I suppose.

I should add that as a vigilant I never loot bodies of those I've slain ... or their chests ... or urns ... etc ..... this falls in line with the noble nature of a vigilant ... and serves to ensure that he/she never takes a life for personal gain. Trust me, not being able to loot really changes the way you play through the game and survive.

Noble nature? Are we talking about the same group?

I don't like mods as they are buggy in nature and never really work the way I want them to. Sure it's nice to have but if it ain't part of the game I really don't care about it. I've been gaming for over 20 years and just find mods unnecessary.

I look forward to meeting your necromancer on the roads of Skyrim, lol.
On the plus side, at least your vigilant will be able to continue the fight against the Daedra. Hey... I may be a monster, but I'm one of those monsters that enjoys incinerating those vamps and doggies!

Each to their own ... but mods really do open up many new ways to play the game.

I see your point but I don't need to play games new ways, especially if the game already gives me the tools to play it on any difficulty. I am old school and maybe an old fool to whomever thinks so but I enjoy games as are. No extra toppings necessary. :)

They also cure you of any diseases you have.

As to why someone would like to roleplay as a Vigilant? Different take on the game, same reason people roleplay as guards, hunters etc.

Personally I just love the idea of a wandering inquisition. Gives me a good reason as to why I want to wander into this cave that has rogue mages or vampires.

"Heretic!" smack with mace.
"Abomination!" smack with mace.

They do try and take Daedric artifacts off you. They weren't as fleshed out as they should have been, but I still love the concept of them.

I want the Templar Orders brought back though.

Good stuff! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't loot(well not from the innocents :)). I'm noble, but not as religious as the Stendarr chaps. I've saved many of their lives as I travel around and encounter on-going brawls between Vigilant dudes and their foes! It's a shame they don't have a bigger part to play in the game.
