I know this is a maddening subject, but... the bug jars. I mean, c'mon guys, what's UP with them? I found the Butterfly in a Jar in the Alchemist Shack off the road to Helgen, and it has RUNES on the bottom of the lid. OML SO DID THE DRAGONSTONE MAYBE THEY'RE RELATED SOMEHOW

The developers obviously weren't thinking about how to give them air. The jars are just collectibles.

If I remember, the letters on the jar were meant to represent the bug inside. Like, the butterfly jar letters look like a butterfly.

That's literally it.

Well, actually bug jars contain mortal beings who were unlucky enough to run into a magical being powerful enough to transform them into a bug.
Probably
That's my theory anyways.

I'd like to know who's been replacing all the items I took from the Alchemist's shack. I found the dude dead in a stream somewhere, so who's replenishing his stuff? The bears at Honeystrand Cave next door?

Well what would be the point of putting jars with runes inside the game? There are other people and items they left out of the game that would be far better than a nauseating conspiracy theory.

There's nothing special about them. There may have been during development but they scrapped it.

They're just deco items.

We don't discuss those jars anymore... and neither should you. They have a meaning, of course. The likes of you are just not intended to know it.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to address your inquiry sir. However, look at it this way; At least the answer is still out there.
