How do you backstab a Dragon?
Staff at end of Under Saarthal always serves pretty well.
Ice spike, fire bolt and lightning bolt work well too.

yeah be careful when giving staffs to followers, they can sometimes harm other ally NPCs and cause them to turn hostile. Any staff that raises the dead is quite safe to give to a follower, as they will only use it on corpses. Staffs that turn undead are safe as well if you are venturing into tombs together.
