    Frost's Torment is the ultimate survival challenge set in a story about magic, history, and a gril's quest for answers. Drea Owl-born, my main character, has heard of an ancient Nord site on the deadly northern shores by the Sea of Ghosts that could hold long lost secrets about her ancestry. The place is called Frost's Torment, but during the time of Ysramorr it was called Houlgate. The journey is too dangerous to make alone, and so Drea seeks allies to aid her quest. She cares not if those allies prefer payment with friendship, coin, or a little of both; she would gladly pay regardless.

    ----------------------------

    I love plying a harsh, realistic Skyrim and that's what this quest aims to be. Expect a believable risk of hypothermia, starvation, dehydration, and decapitation as you journey with Drea to Windhelm, Winterhold, and the deadly ice flows and glaciers of the north.

    3 to 4 players should be sufficient for the party, and as for if anyone is Dragonborn I feel should be left to a group consensus. This is, after all, a personal quest for my own playable character, and I feel like demanding I'm also the Dragonborn is kinda unfair.

    Please feel free to pick your character's motivation for joining Drea's quest. I worded the "official description," if you will, to assure any and all that this is meant to be a dynamic journey for all involved. Offer any idea you like, and if, for some reason, an idea doesn't fit we can work on it so that everyone's happy. Unless your idea just won't work, which I find unlikely.

    Expect the usual suspects: bandits, sabrecats, trolls, etc. I love high octane combat, and I feel its a great writing exercise, so expect plenty of action. To create a more true feeling of high paced combat, for example if the group takes on a small bandit hideout together, I propose participants try to schedule times when we can all respond quickly to action posts. Think of it as playing D&D together, only over the computer. If all our schedules allow this, I think it would be pretty fun.

    When the group gets closer to Houlgate, however, expect more challenging enemies. I would like to avoid some spoilers, but dragur will be the main chum meat. There is a boss fight, and you'll find out about that from the story.

    Survival is meant to play a big part in this story, and by that I mostly mean realistic roleplay. Our characters should be prepared, aware, and believable in their regards to the dangers of Skyrim's harsh north. Just keep the dangers of northern Skyrim in your mind when writing and I'm sure you'll nail it.

    Any questions/suggestions for survival guidelines feel free to say so.

    Hi there @SciHighFant_asy420 , I'd be interested in joining up in this quest of yours. My character is a Khajiit by the name of S'engi, who's quite skilled in survival and combat...but not so much with dungeon puzzles and whatnot. So I think my character would be a nice addition, hope I can join in :)

    @Jarrede a practical cat like S'engi sounds like a great character to join Drea! I can hear the playful jabs already! Go ahead and post the full description for your character, and thanks for taking an interest. I'm brand new hear so I'm pretty nervous, and I really appreciate you man <3:beermug::beermug:

    Oh, also feel free to draft a rough introductory passage for why S'engi would join Drea and what he'd like to gain from it. For example, he sounds like a straightforward bad ass, so maybe he just likes the challenge and adventure of it. Just a little something to give me a little first impression of S'engi.

    Alright, that sounds good. I'm pretty new myself, haha. And yeah S'enji is a pretty great Khajiit in general. He mainly looks for the adventure in the quests he does, and sometimes if the loot or reward is good, he'll definitely be in. I mainly base his looks and equipment on my Dragonbourn, but I won't have him be the Dragonbourn in this quest. I'll post an overview of him in a little while, I'm just a little busy at the moment. If you need to contact me I can give you my number if that makes it easier.

    Gender: Male
    Age: 27
    Hight: 5'9"
    Weight: 186
    Laterality: Ambidextrous
    Fur Color: Dark grey with highlights of pitch black
    Eye Color: Sky blue with a hint of green
    Build: Athletically toned
    Scars: Large gash on his chest from a near-fatal Daedra confrontation
    Tattoos: Intricate tribal markings around his face and the mark of Oblivion across his back
    Piercings: None
    Other: Several singed marks on his fur from a troubled past

    Apparel
    Constant wear: He usually travels in his personalized scaled armor. Sleeves added with light metal plating for improved protection and mobility. Leather guard added around the neck to prevent decapitation. No headgear, he doesn't want to hinder his hearing or vision in any way. He wears sleek black, fingerless gloves for improved mobility whilst in combat. Hybrid-make boots made from the durability of Ebony and mobility of Dragonscale.
    Casual wear: On his days off of adventuring he'll don clothing made from soft cotton, he loves the way it feels on his fur.

    Weapons: Armed mainly with his modified Ebony bow, he also carries two glass daggers that take on the color of transparent ruby, instead of the traditional green, when he was experimenting with smithing and ended up having a stash of rubies fall into the mix of Malachite. The fusion proved to be sturdier and sharper than any ordinary dagger.

    Personality:S'enji is a relatively stubborn person but eventually is kind hearted to anyone who gets him to open up. Due to his parents tragic death, he hates to dwell on the past and is constantly riddled with nightmares. He tries to be reasonably pleasant to around him, but is quickly angered.

    Fighting style: Prefers to keep the enemies at a long range and pick then off with his bow, but proves to be just as efficient with his daggers and claws in a close quarters confrontation.

    Habits:
    *You'll usually find him sharpening his daggers and fine-tuning his bow in his off time
    *Occasionally brushes his fur to keep from getting matted. His fur is surprisingly silky-smooth from doing this
    *May be caught reading a book on restoration spells and occasionally will be heard pouring while reading it. He gets embarrassed when asked about reading it due to his lack of magical talent

    Voice: A suprisingly deep voice for a Khajiit, sounding more like a burly Nord like his father.

    Likes:
    * Cold weather
    * Flawless gemstones
    * Cold weather
    * Finding out more about people he meets all around Skyrim
    * Looking at the vast land of Skyrim from tall peaks of the land

    Dislikes:
    * Being demanded to fulfill pointless tasks
    * Daedras (this is explained in his background)
    * Anyone who disregards the Khajiit race
    * Vampires

    Affiliations: Sellsword, Ah'kiri Caravan

    Properties: He only owns a small home outside of Dawnstar. He rarely stays there due to him exploring most of the time. He usually camps out in a cow hide tent and blanket made from a sabre cat pelt. He asks is Co-Owner of the Ah'kiri Caravan passed down to him by his mother. The caravan is mainly managed by the other co-owner since S'engi is usually out adventuring.

    Combat Skills: Like previously mentioned he is a crack shot with his bow even at almost impossible distances due to enhanced eyesight from his feline heritage. He sparred with wooden swords with friends and his kin as a cub which led him to aspire to master bladesmenship. He attacks quickly and ferociously, leaving fatal blows, making the foe die instantly or slowly over time.

    Other: He used to be a notorious thief known as the Shadow Leapord when he was only 14 years old. He fell out of the craft of thievery when talked to by an ex-thief who talked to him out of the practice and told him "It would never get him anywhere but a cold bed in the nearest hold's dungeon".

    History/Backstory:
    S'enji was born into quite a normal Khajiit's life, living life as a merchant working a caravan. He was originally given the name Ri'suun after his great grandfather. For 17 years he lived in Elsweyr traveling with his parents in the Ah'kiri Caravan. But a trade gone wrong led S'enji to travel to Skyrim and escape the pain brought upon him by the horrible encounter.
    This mysterious traveler happened to be a Master level mage going by the name of Seline. She attempted to purchase a rare Amulet of Psymor that managed to end up in the caravan's inventory. Ah'kiri refused to sell it because she had grew a sentimental bond with it. After this Seline became enraged and summoned three Deadras and commanded them to slaughter the whole caravan and retrieve the amulet. Ah'kiri was the first casualty as the Daedra closest to her swung it's sword and slashed her across the chest, fatally injuring her. She fell to the ground lifeless, causing Ri'suun to cry out in agony in seeing his mother being struck down. Enraged at this, Cladicus lunged out at the Daedra ending his wife's life, and lopped off its head with his greatsword and swung out at next closest Daedra only to have it catch his blade and shatter it. The unarmed then Cladicus stood with his arms out, shielding Ri'suun from harm. The two remaining Daedras closed in on Cladicus as he told his only son to run and never look back. Ri'suun turned and ran, hearing his father being taken down by the Daedras. He got about 50 yards away when he felt a searing pain in his back as Seline cast a rune of supernatural energy and hit him hard on the back of his armor. The rune that exploded had burned with energy hot enough that it singed its pattern into Ri'suun's skin on his back. He fell down in pain into the sands being covered quickly by sands, shrouding him from Seline's relentless attack. About two days passed before Ri'suun finally rose up out of the sand and limped his way to the closest apothecary to heal his wounds.
    A few weeks after this, he changed his name to S'engi as to not arouse attention by any affiliates of Seline. He spent the next 5 years living out a somewhat normal life in Elsweyr. He then heard of a special offer in Skyrim and it peaked his attention, so he made the long trip from Elsweyr to Skyrim. This quest offered to him played off very generously and he spent his share on restoring his mother's caravan in another country.
    After about 2 years he got the Ah'kiri Caravan back to its old glory, and left it in in the trustworthy hands of his closest friend , who became the second co-owner.
    He then set off to go adventuring the northern areas of Skyrim and the many rings holding treasures he could bring back to the caravan.
    3 more years go by, and the business is thriving. S'engi goes to celebrate at the Winking Skeever and overhears a conversation of an ambitious woman looking to uncover the mysteries of her past. He then sets out to find this Drea Owl-born and seek to aid her in her time of need.

    So begins the story of S'engi's greatest quest.

    I hope you enjoyed my character bio. Hope this helps you understand S'engi and his background/personality more.

    I loved it! First off, I love your breakdown of the bio! I had instant questions of your 80/20 ratial ratio (lol, word play) but given that the Elder Scrolls lore of inter-species relations heavily depends upon the mother's race (added to my own real-life biological deductions of said lore) it actually mkes perfect sense. I'm not sure if you get what I'm saying (I'm trying to iterate it to my friends and they don't follow...) but S'engi's racial background is utterly immersive and unique in my opinion. Love it.

    His personal history is tragic and complex and duty drivin and environmentally derived...S'engi's story is great! I knew he woud fit in with Drea's quest, but know I know just how suited he is.

    Look, I said at the start that this quest needs 3-4 players, but now I'm rethinking. In Skyrim, you can only have one follower. Without mods. And while I want this quest to be challenging, I feel adding more peope will only add undue compication. How hard is it for multiple people to ally their sceduales and stay contant in posts? The answer is exponetially harder for each person involved.

    Why not keep this simple and fun?

    What say you, S'engi? Will you brave the cold, harsh wind of Skyrim at the head of a Nord like Drea? I say we begin the quest with just the two of us.

    "I think I can warm the snows of Skyrim for a Khajiit's dainty paws so that he may safely make piddles and fear no frost trolls," Drea muses into her wine. Her glance at the sleek, lanky Khajiit is teasing, if sharp. "I'm sure he will find something of interst on the way. I'd hate for him to go...uncompensated."

    I will re-use that line in due time! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I may not answer, but that only means you will find out in time! But I feel you are ready to beging the immersivly unfolding journey of Drea Owl-born with me.

    I think our characters should be lovers, not care-free lovers but then again not serious paramors. It does take such...intimate actions to overcome the sub freezing environments of Skyrim.

    I almost said "sub zero," but do Tamrialians have a grasp of the number zero? They surely have a grasp of freezing, so let's go with that for now.

    I greatly appreciate that you liked S'engi, he took a lot of thought to come up with, but I really wanted a reason for why he would leave Elsweyr and journey to Skyrim, what better way than a tragic back story? And as gor after that, what are Khajiits infamous for in Skyrim? Running the caravans of Skyrim. So yeah I thought this was such a great and fun little experiment, haha.
    And yeah, if you're up for just doing 2 that's be perfectly fine. As for them them being lovers, I guess we could try it. I mean, S'engi has a very thick, smooth coat of fur which keeps him warm and keep in mind his 20% of Nord blood giving him that resilience in the cold. With him being as furry as he is I'm sure he can keep Drea quite warm.
    Maybe you could post a brief summary or a full one like my own so I could get a sense of what goes on in Drea's head?

    And yeah, this definitely sounds like its be really fun. I'll usually on here everyday, so it won't be hard to ahold of me.

    "Ha! You mistake S'engi for being dainty, don't let my fine clothes mistake you," S'enji scoofs at the playful tease, "S'engi has delved within many dungeons, and seen the many sights of North Skyrim.I seek only to assist a lost women searching for answers of her ancestry.....now, may S'engi offer to buy you some mead? Perhaps some ale?"

    Hey @thatguy2 I think it'd be nice to have you on board. I'd recommend putting in a character overview so she can look it over and see if you'd be able to join in. I for one would love to have another companion on this quest. But alas, it's not mine to decide....I look forward to seeing your character. Hopefully @SciHighFant_asy420 will reply soon.

    Your character sounds pretty good @ThatGuy. You should also put a reason why Vidarr would be interested in joining the quest. And maybe a little backstory? I'd like to hear more about him.
