So I joined both Mage guild and Thieves guild. But dislike Maven Black Briar so thinking of also joining the DB for the perks. Plus I really wanna play my new guy as a combo stealth assassin conjurer. Thoughts? I've completed first TG mission to get the TG armor set for the perks. For skills, probably focus on level up my sneak and archery to use the bonus damage multipliers but my base weapons already do like 300-600 damage so not an issue to one shot most basic enemies.

I feel these factions all compliment each other well. Alternating quests among the three will prevent any one from getting stale. :beermug:

I started both factions and completed first few missions. Both are great but I do prefer the DB more. Probably because I am also a big Assassin's Creed fan. I did hard to secretly whack that lady in Dawnstar. Even at night in her home that I lockpicked, she still had guards come after killing her. So I killed the Dawnstar guards which was easy. However this Stormcloak jerk is an unkillable NPC and attacked me. Did zero damage but even when I beat him, he would not die!

Both factions are worth joining and the questlines are enjoyable. I love the DG Armour.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
What's everybody's problem with Maven? Don't you have mothers? She's a powerful, strong woman who won't be cowed by the likes of you. She's not cowed by Jarls or Emperors or any bandit or baddie out there, so why should she be different with you? Yes, she owns the TG, but, and both she and the DB even say, that she also has very strong connections to the DB, so don't think you're going to get away from her just 'cause you go DB.

Sheesh. Leave her alone. She's a strong Nord woman and you're all just threatened.

Maven is a mean cold bitch. I hate her. Wish I could kill her. Anyways, now that I can kill guards with zero damage, it is less expensive than wasting gold on stupid bounty payoffs. Just kill guards at will. I don't think it will break the quests.

My question still stands though.
So what? Look what she does for a living, the power she wields and how she goes about doing things. Did you really expect her to be nice? Personally I like a good b**** and have absolutely no problem with her. She's just like good-ole Mom. Even looks like her.

Yeah I get that but the witch does not have to be such a bitch to a top pimp ass guy like my toon who can kill anyone and take zero damage. If she was a killable NPC she would be whacked quickly. If only there was a mod for that. Hell I would eliminate the entire Blackbriar and Stormcloak gang along with the Thalmor Empire.

Then again, she couldn't possibly know that you are all that, now, could she? If the game is played with any sort of realism, you would never be able to attain that sort of Godhood. That's something built in to the game mechanics.

Personally, I like that this Mafia Donna acts exactly like someone in her position would act. She has the money. She has the power. She gets her way and, if she doesn't, she eliminates the issue through her connections with the TG, DB and the Empire.

I suppose there will be some sort of mod (not on the PS4, obviously, as such a thing would have to change the scripting).

Me: I like Maven and I am always respectful and a little naughty and belligerent with her and we get along fine. There are plenty of other NPCs that are condescending undeservedly so one such as Maven doesn't bother me in the least.

Agree. I dislike the NPCs in Dawnstar. At least I was able to whack that mage punk Silvus or whatever the hell his name is with that lame museum. However the Stormcloak guy unfortunately was unkillable.

You keep saying "That Stormcloak Guy". Do you mean the Jarl? Or do you mean Frorknar Banner-Torn, the Stormcloak Commander in Dawnstar (who is unkillable, as is every Legate or Commander in any faction camp - although I do enjoy beating them to the ground, letting them recover and then beating them down again!). Either way, of course they're unkillable, or you'd screw up one of the main questlines! The former Legion Commander and her bodyguard are unkillable too, for the same reasons.

No that Froknar asshole guy commander at Dawnstar. It is fun beating the punk to submission then he gets up, stops aggro for a minute then I punk him down again. I figure with 9000 extra health on my glass armor nothing can hurt me. The good thing is that I dont need to pay off bounties cuz I can just rekill the guards.

Which will give you even more bounties. At some point, it will bleed over to the other holds, I'm sure. Then what are you going to do?

The problem with being a homicidal maniac in Skyrim is that it interferes with your questlines (that and the Companions will always attack you on sight and they can get really, really irritating).

Admittedly, 9K on your armor is really high, but, you just know that, at some point, something is going to glitch and you'll end up dead. Not that you won't deserve it, but it would certainly be annoying.

And, yes, Froknar is a real putz. I can deal with the Jarl - he's old and stupid, but Froknar is just a pain.

well I have no reason to head back to Dawnstar for a long ass time so hopefully it will reset the bounty or I have a million gold to deal with it. Why would the companions have anything to do with dawnstar guards? My understanding is they are neutral to the whole matter as mercs in the game like DB and TG.

Whenever you have issues with the guards, for some reason, the Companions step up to hunt the offending party. Try it. Attack guards in any hold and then try to have dealings with the Companions. They are not happy about it.

I think it may be a glitch since they're only supposed to react for Whiterun hold.

Yes, happened to me awhile back with Farkus. Took me forever to figure out why, but it was a bounty in another hold. Anytime he'd see me in Whiterun, he'd run up with his blade out and continuously engage me in dialog. He'd never actually attack, yet neither would he leave me alone. It was quite annoying.

Funny I was actually apprehended by a stupid Pale guard outside of the area far away from Dawnstar walking around near Whiterun which is weird. Since I had tons of gold I just paid him off instead of killing him. How can guards from other posts do this?
