PC Dawnguard quest line

Hi,

I am just doing TG and DB quests and grind smithing / enchanting in spare time.

Once I am done with TG I will try the Dawnguard questline and therefore I have a few questions (you can give spoilers):

- since I am rolling thief / assassin I was thinking about becomin a vampire BUT is it really necessary to become one in order to finish this quest line?

- if I decide to side with dawnguard, do I have to, at some point, turn into a werevolf?

- once I am vampire, I can turn into VL at will, right?

- but when in human form I will still suffer the consequences, like no stamina regen in sunlight?

- when in human form,can I roam the world freely (even during the day) ? will NPC react in a hostile way towards me?

- I read I can turn into a VL and cure almost at will - this includes this female NPC and later a black sould gem and some guru who can cure it?

- do you happen to know any good VL guides?

- no, but it's easiest for a temporary period to complete a certain sidequest (you can always be cured). You can sacrifice something else if you want though.
- no, that's a different faction completely. You can be whatever you want and be a member of the Dawnguard (except a vamp, of course)
- yes
- yes, unless you use mods. Get the Lady Stone and enchantments. Not a problem really.
- yes, you can roam and no-one will react (although there may be some comments). Remember that you still have limitations and penalties for being out in the daylight though. There are mods that fix that though.
- Not sure what you want for a guide, but the wiki's are a great guide as is the Skyrim Bible. Let me know if you need links.

BTW: I love vamp and very rarely go were or DG at all on most of my builds, so, hopefully I can be of more help if you need. I am on PS4 and do play modded though at the moment, although I've played a vamp for years unmodded.

Im finishing TG atm, so maybe i will do dawnguard and go about DB questline. This vamp lord really tickled my fancy.

Btw, can i fight normally with dagger and bow as VL?

No. As a VL, you're limited to your blood magic and health absorb while flying and your claws and bite while on the ground. You won't miss your weapons though after a few perks.

Remember though, you don't have to stay a vamp if you don't want, but, personally, I enjoy it.

If you ever decide to go mod, there are a couple of great ones out there (Vampires & Magic and No Ugly Vampires are the ones I use, but there are others).

It might be it - play a part of game as VL but first i will have to come up with some kind of a backstory for my thief / assassin. Maybe when sleeping it will hit me

Careful with that sleeping... the DB are gonna git ya!

Knowing my luck I WILL be hit...by DG and not by the idea I am counting on.... yeap youre right - caution required.

maybe 2 death hounds by my bedside will do the trick...

Hello Im thinking of doing a side character as opposed to my main character (a khajiit stealth archer assassin thief who will soon end up learning illusion.)Who done the dawnguard. Im going to make a dunmer vampire nightblade assassin to do the volkihar side and maybe the DB. But I dont want to build a giant attachment to him.

Anyway you seem to be an expert of playing a vampire. Can you give me any tips for a fist time vamp. Like regen potions or any tips that will be useful. He will be a roleplaying intensive build as opposed to my main witch is light roleplay. And also Is it fun. just no spoilers plz... And . also I cant get mods.
