Ysarth the watcher

High Elf of the Skyrim wilds
This will be my amass of poetry and simple verses as they come to me!

Enjoy

I want

I want to walk the seas with your hand in mine

And catch the falling stars

I want to watch the clouds wash by

And know the end is far

I want to hear the creaking of the mountains

With your head against mine

I want to wish for every legend written

But only if they knew no time

I want to caress your cheek which warmed mine

And blink away your tears

I want to feel the heart that rendered me blind

To know again the power of fear

I want to swim the endless deserts

And bath in sunless warmth

To rise up in the whitest heavens

As we slumber under the fireless hearth

I want, I want

O, but how you are!

I want us never to part

Nor venture alone afar!

And here is something a little odd, even for my poetry. A bit of fun I guess?...

Flitter flatter

The reason does not matter,

And logic comes to die!

Whether you’ve come to prove the latter

Or show you’re a nutter

There is no reason to ask why!

Mind in the gutter

Or minding the gutter

The beverage you’ve had won’t lie!

And if you were a glutton

Then there’s no reason to spare the mutton

Or the bird that cannot fly!

Stitter stutter

How is margarine butter?

And who dares to use it to fry!

Soaked in the batter

Yet not rich enough to banter

But daring enough to lie!

And if this made you stutter

At the rhyme or cluster

Just be glad that you did not die!

The unheard prayer

In silence I recall all regret
and set these free
For they bare the chains of my jailors,
and the scars that still bleed.
I walk beside
A path, without fear
and bathe in the river
that masks the drawing of memories near,
I am not afraid;
I know I stand with thee
And thou art my light
that any darkness would be unmade.
I listen amidst the gales
for your whisper,
I push against worldly forces
to find you, standing there -
You had never left
But there were those that blinded me
Or I myself
As I found me bereft.
I thank thee
For morn to rise
And light to fade
For the somberness 'tween
Of lives such as mine,
that I would ne'er meet.

The Winter House

Look lo to the house of winter
How its walls are bright
and its tiles shimmer
even in the faintest light

Some will stand and admire
And others will venture near
But none will dare to enquire
Or enter here

For it sits in darkness
That no stars or sun could alight
And in bitterness
which no one could bring delight

There are no doors leading out
or a hearth to keep it warm
No living creatures moving about
nor windows to reveal the dawn

Here lies the winter house
Floors of an ice-sheet
that creek and rouse
the owner whose heart no longer beats

Ysarth the watcher

High Elf of the Skyrim wilds
As you stand and watch the shadow
The face that stares back
Deep beneath the watery meadow
That snakes between the banks

The river of dreams
As it reveals your yearnings
Secrets in its weaves
And regrets in its turning

Do you see who looks back?
Do you know him?
Or is the name alack
In the fear of him returning?

Wade in, admists the waves
Dare to disturb its ebb
And hear what the river quietly says
Of pasts once thought dead

Do you know the eyes that look?
The same which watch yours?
Or have they lost their crook
Whence your tears once were borne?
