DON'T EXPECT SPOILER WARNINGS FROM ME
I've been playing couple of games in same time recently. Paladins, Rome Total War 2 and Skyrim. But this is Skyrim forum so it is Skyrim of which I am going to talk about here.

So, in my latest plays, I've been working on ressurecting my dead hero Michael (the one you see in my description below this text).
His reincarnation's name is Taric The-Unbroken and he is going to suprass Michael in most ways.
In short, this time I know exacly what to do and this one will be perfect. I have discovered some things I didnt know before. To restore Blades, I need to talk after completing Alduin's Wall. And so I have done. (felt kinda ashamed, during all these years, I thought Paathurnax has to die :/ )

3 followers can be recruited, and I've recruited 2 by now. The dilema is who is going to be 3rd one.
Calder and Aela are new blades. My idea is to 2-2 strategy. 2 up in front, doing melee dmg (myself and Calder), and other 2 from back shooting arrows. Aela and.... who? I've done some research, but i need some1 who leves up to 50, has 100 in archery and 100in light armor. Preferably a female and non-beast race (meaning either humans or elves). The ones I found are Jannesa (mercenary from Whiterun) but wikia doesnt show her stats at max lvl (if any1 knows more about Jannesa pls share it). All housecarls seem to have same stats (98 archery), and prefer heavy armor... NOTE: I've got no DLC's installed, and if there is none, then I will probably recruit Mercurio or some other mage.

I have also come across some kind of exploit on wikia. It says that polymorphing followers with Wabbajack will pernamently imprve all their stats after they turn back to human. Is there any1 who can confirm this? Has some1 here been using it at all?? This is completly new for me...

As bonus, I found some other stuff... It's about equipement enchantments on followers. Wikia says: only Resist magic/fire/frost/shock, muffle, waterbreathing, bonus health/stamina/magica, bonus health regen (only when out of combat) enchantments have effect on followers (!?) I was so suprised, i had no idea, did you? I gave calder plenty stuff with bonus archery/one-handed/blocking, and it looks like it all has been just a waste of soul gems and daedric armor pieces.... I am definetly going to test this one out.

Looking forward to amswers. Thnx for reafing this far.

Jenassa is great, but she only levels to 30. The thing is she duel wields, so she'd be very effective up front as well. She's one of my favorite followers, and if properly equipped will hold her own easily. It's true though that you cannot enhance attributes through enchantments, which I unfortunately also learned too late. :beermug:

Thanks! Will use her most probably. I've checked wikia folower list one more time. There is no archer that lvls to 50 besides Aela. Im dissapointed. Only thing left for me to do is to rely on console commands and make Jenessa lvl up to 50 or polymorph her (that would make her on dragonborn's lvl, and thats 67 atm). I know this exploits game completly.... and i dont care. It feels nice to free myself from all role-play rules once in a while. Besides, she wont be too overpowered, neither will I.

P.S. after posting this thread I went stright to sleep. I dreamed that all forum replied like "nothing new" or "already knew that". It made me feel like a dumbass. Then I woke up and read your answer. I'm grateful more than you might think... :O

I've noticed that there's never much response to questions regarding the Blades on here, and it's understandable I guess. Bethesda should redeem the Blades in their next game; they were such a likeable organization in Oblivion, sad to see what they'd devolved to in the time of Skyrim.

My Blades team consists entirely of powerful melee fighters. The dragon can fly around all it wants but as soon as it lands: let the hacking commence! :beermug: My character duel-wields and has Eric the Slayer following, who's classified a barbarian, (two-handed, light armor), my three blades members are: Stenvarr, Benor, and Vilkas, all mighty two-handers. :beermug:

Im more fan of a one handed weapons, but perhaps for followers it IS better to give them two handed. Because some happen to hold shield while opponent has no way of attacking. Two handed ones do the same, but at least will hit harder. Stupid NPC AI.

Still, I want those archers, for the style.

Do you consider Orcs to be a "beast" race? (Personally, I know they're mer and not beast)

If so, either one of the female orc followers are excellent archers.

Just a thought.
No, I consider them an Elvish race. You make me check wikia again. Brb. Will edit this answer.

Edit: yes. Indeed, there are. Problem is again, they lvl to 30. Same problem with Jennesa, and they probably have same, or similiar stats at lvl 30. At least dunmer females look more like actual females than orcs.

Hey! My lady orc is awesome! Sure she has little tusks, but her figure is slammin'. Yes, they only level to 30, but there really aren't any archers that level much past 30 (except Aela, of course - any of the female Housecarls do have archery as their secondary though so you might want to consider one of them - don't know which ones can be recruited though). Borgakh seems to hold her own though, IMO. Annekke Craigjumper is a pretty good option too if you really want a female archer. I realize that she only levels to 30, but she is pretty fierce. Too bad you don't have Dawnguard though since Injgard doesn't have a level limit and she's pretty cool and a dern good archer.

Problem with housecarls is that they make primary use of heavy armor, not light. Who wants to see swift archer wearing 25tons of armor.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?? Should have taken it when it was just a loot.

True. My personal favorite has always been Annekke though (she looks grreat in glass as well surprisingly! and has quite a rack). As I said, she may top out at 30, but sshe's at least as good of an archer as Aela, and a lot easier to deal with (her voice I like). Just a thought. I'm not sure if she' recruitable though.

Either that or one of my family reunions. :)

I recruited Jennesa, i like her voice better. She's also so badass. "what is the meaning of art if there is no one alive to see it" i think thats what she said. I've created save beforehead, so in case it doesnt go well, ill turn back and try with Anekke to make some incest. Oh my, skyrim turned into f*p material. What a time to be alive...

Doesn't matter anymore, as of the patches it has fixed follower leveling.
