I know the answer could vary greatly among individual Khajiit when taking into account different backstories and scenarios. So generally speaking, most Khajiit in Skyrim would side with..? Ideally one who votes in this poll will state their reasons for the choice made, and hopefully the reasons will not be dictated by a personal bias toward or against a particular side, but rather determined by knowledge: of the Khajiit, the civil war itself, and the lore of Tamriel in general.

Now, let the votes be cast! :beermug:

I would suppose that the Khajit really wouldn't care as long as business still flows.

I would guess that they would side with the Empire though since the trade opportunities are so much more vast than having to deal with the Nords only.

Nords don't bring anything to the table anyhow.

Empire, most likely. While the war is going on, they prefer to not pick a side, as doing so would make the locals even more suspicious of them, and the last thing they want is to be chased away from the big cities by Nords accusing them of being Imperial spies, or arrested and tortured for being Stormcloak sympathizers.

I think ultimately, the Khajiit would see the Empire as being the lesser of two evils in skyrim. Let's say, for example, if Kharjo were to settle down and have kittens in one of the holds. He would probably much prefer to raise a family in a hold ruled by a jarl that is progressive thinking and wants Skyrim to unite with the other countries and thrive through trade, rather than a hold full of stroppy Nords more interested in protecting their traditions and not wanting to mix with magical elves, smelly lizards and shifty cats.

If Khajiits had to choose one way or the other, I don't think they'd choose Skyrexit.

Can lean one way or another. Khajiit have no reason to love the Empire anymore than they would love a faction of old Hold Nords. The Empire is "progressive" merely as a means to an end to protect their holdings, and maintain order. Anything coming between that and they'll show you exactly how friendly they are, last time the Khajiit met the Legion in battle they slaughtered every man, woman and child for taking too long to surrender.

Same for every race, has to come down to personal belief rather than "lore friendly", there is no real lore friendly reason for an entire race to side with one faction.

If you're just going for your very generic lore generated khajiit, then they would side with none as both oppose the Thalmor whom many khajiit view as saviors.

Let's, real quick, address the real problem facing the khajiit that are in skyrim:

Being allowed in the cities.

Stormcloaks win: nothing changes in that regard.

Empire wins: I have no real basis for this, but I assume that the empire would be more open to the idea of letting the khajiit into the cities to trade, so long as they pay the taxes on their goods and probably a fee for the privelage of selling goods inside the city proper.

Also: They are currently profiting, BECAUSE of the war. Ri'saad tells you so when you ask why they sell their goods in Skyrim.

The answer: no one, they want no one to win.

Edit: I just realized I hit the wrong choice in the poll. Ignore one of those empire votes, it belongs to skooma.

Of course, in hindsight, not choosing a side is the right answer because the majority of Khajiit in skyrim are benefitting from the war. They don't have much love and loyalty for Skyrim, they dislike how cold it is and miss the warm sands of Elsweyr. Even J'zarrgo likes to see a lot of competition among mages in the college, and doesn't mind stealing magical artifacts for his own purposes (which makes him probably less civilized than the orc running the library) I'm just thinking if a Khajiit ever were to consider Skyrim a home they would prefer it without the Stormcloaks.

But then, the Khajiit are not in the same position as the dark elves, who actually have settled down and tried to make a life for themselves in Skyrim. the Dunmer in Skyrim don't seem to have much love for their own homeland and would rather stay in a land where a lot of people don't like them, but the Khajiit actually do miss their sunny warm desert and seem to cherish their memories of home. Of all the races we encounter in Skyrim, the Khajiit are the ones less likely to stay in one place for long. Perhaps that's why we don't get any Khajiit NPCs as marriageable partners.

As stated variously above, Khajiit would likely (albeit perhaps not excessively, and likely still not integrating into Skyrim society per se) do better in a Skyrim that was still part of the Empire than just under the Nords, so would likely rather see the Empire win. However, most likely most of them would rather see the Empire win without their help. Except for selling fine goods to them at fair prices.

Khajit are merchants who like to stay connected. As such, they will go where the coin is.

Now, if the Stormcloaks are putting up barriers to trade because they're outsiders, that's one thing although the Empire could do the same with it's taxes, not at least to mention the feelings towards them coming from local communities and magistrates.

However in this matter I believe Khajit would look at the situtation and sum it up thusly:

"War is good for business"

"Peace is good for business"

The caravans will remained banned from the cities, the Empire won't involve itself that much into the petty dealings of such a minor thing like local rulers deciding who can and can't enter their lands.

Much as I love me some Empire, we're talking about an organisation that spent 433 years to start reviewing Orsinium's application to Tiber Septim for elevation to Provincial status.

Khajiit caravans are guilty of what the Nords claim anyway, and many of them are unwelcome in both Cyrodiil and Elsweyr due to criminal activity. They're smugglers and drug dealers.
