Also, if you guys are interested I was thinking of starting up another roleplay on the site (It's so much less active here than I remember, hopefully with Skyrim getting remastered there'll be a resurgence?)

I was thinking of a Elder Scrolls roleplay and I have a few ideas.

    Orien Terrik

    "Arik tree'ac te kek."
Name: Unit 5555-55 "David, Dave, or Davey"

    Race: Geth

Age: Current Platform - Nineteen Years of Age | Program - 300 Years of Age

    Height: 6'6"

    Weight: 240 lbs.

    Class: Geth Spectre Infiltrator

    Loadout:

    - PRIMARY: Modified Javelin Sniper Rifle

    - SECONDARY: Modified M-7 Lancer

    - OTHER: An Omnitool, used for all sorts of technical abilities. Unlike most soldiers, this Geth Unit has chosen to carry a knife strapped to his right Shoulder plate. He wears a belt around his waist, with pouches of all kinds of things, one of which holds a photo of his adopted family.

    - BIOTICS: None

    - AMMUNITION: Armor Piercing, Disruptor, Cryo

-POWERS: Geth Assassin, Marksman, AI Hacking, Tactical Cloak

    - CASUAL WEAR: Geth do not wear casual outfits... they are structural weaknesses.

    - ARMOR AND APPEARANCE: David uses the most advanced, and newest, Platform available, as well as the most advanced Combat Code. The new Materials used in the formation of the armor make it fairly light to carry, but have an increased strength over the previous Platform Models. The coloration of the armor is pitch black, with hints of brown and red on the trim. His optics are red in coloration. Possibly the one thing that stands out the most are the paintings on his right Shoulder plate, depicting a Geth and Quarian holding hands, walking side by side under the sun. He also has a small flower painted in what appears to be pink paint on the right side of his facial flap. He also has painted an N7 on his right chest plate, in honor of both Shepard-Commander, and Legion.

    20j4mxc.jpg

Personality: David is known to be very curious when it comes to Organic behavior, and has been know to try and use catchphrases. Though awkward, he does his best to be outgoing, and fit in, trying to tell jokes and make people laugh. He has been known to do the Robot, and attempt to beat box. It is possible David absorbed some of Legion's personality Matrix when Legion sacrificed himself for the Geth to give them all True Intelligence. The past few years have been hard on him, however, and he has been noted to have retreated inside himself, acting more as a lone wolf. It is assumed he is confused more then anything over his feelings of past events. These have not hampered his combat abilities, as he is still one of the top Spectres. Parts of his former personality linger within him, and occasionally resurface. He tries his best not to be attached to anyone now adays.

    Short Backstory:
The Program that would come to be known as David was first created right before the outbreak of the morning war. During the war, it attempted to protect it's owner, who was sympathetic to the Geth, but failed, resulting in his Master's termination. Time passed on, and David "lived" on, leeping close tabs on the Extra Net to study the Organics. It remained loyal to the True Geth, and did not join the Heretics when Nazara, also know as Sovereign, came knocking on their doorstep. In fact, David never saw combat until the Creators decided to attack the Geth once more. Uploaded with the Reaper Code, David became an ambient War Machine, and a deadly Sniper, taking its foes from both close and long range. Though it did not want to kill the Creators, it did what he had to do to ensure the survival of the Geth. Like the others, when Legion sacrificed himself for the Geth, he gained true intelligence and sentience, the programs inside him became one unified unit, and he began using the pronouns I and we. He also began referring to himself as a male. Joining the fight against the Reapers, David fought in the Battle of Earth, and preformed his combat duties flawlessly. It was during this engagement where he earned the name David from his Squadmates, due to his ability to take down large, armored, and dangerous targets with a single "Sling" of a bullet. David liked the name, and it stuck with him.

David would continue to serve with the Alliance military as a scout, and Sniper, until ten years after the Reaper incident. Having racked up an impressive track record, David returned to Rannoch, where he joined a Joint Quarian-Geth police force, to help keep the new colonies safe. He served on this Task Force for another five years, before he nearly met his match. The colony world of Lunga Minor, on the edges of Quarian space, discovered a way to revolutionize medical procedures. The Blood Pack, hired by an unknown third party, raided the world, and the policing force was dispatched to defend the settlements. Unfortunately, many of the police members were raw recruits, not having saw much combat. A quick evacuation was put into motion, though some were left behind. The Blood Pack initially overran the Police Force, leaving only a few left. A brave last stand was made, where all of the Police force was killed, save David, who lost his legs, and his right arm from the elbow down, to a rampaging Krogan. David, however, was able to finish off the last of the Blood Pack mercenaries with his Sniper Rifle, ending the threat. He sat, unable to fully move for two days, before a young Quarian girl, named Serei, who was left behind in the evacuation, stumbled upon him. The young Quarian was already tech savvy. She plugged him into an extended battery to keep him powered. The two got to know each other well while they awaited rescue, and she decorated parts of his armor with colored marking devices. Eventually, an Alliance shuttle arrived, and picked the two up.

The girl was sent back to Rannoch, along with David. They were split up, the girl being taken to find her parents, and David being sent to be rebuilt. Unfortunately, his platform was damaged beyond repair. A new Platform was created for him, using all new materials. His new body was built, and his consciousness transferred into it. As it turned out, Serei was the daughter of a lead Quarion Scientist, who came to thank him for his efforts in defending the research facility. The two were reunited, and she drew the same symbols onto his new armor. Serei and David would become close friends, and David began uploading himself into her suit, to help stimulate her immune system, as other Geth were doing all over Rannoch. The Quarian Scientist, Derava, and her Husband, Teff, adopted the Geth into their family. He and Serei would pretend that they were fighting against the Reapers, and together, take on the bad guys!

Eventually, however, David decided to rejoin the military, as a conflict was heating up between the Batarians, Vorcha, and the rest of the Galaxy. The Four Years War was a harsh and brutal war, the Vorcha and Batarians trying to vie for the power over the Humans. Eventually, the War came to an end due to a rebellion against the Batarian Government by its own people. David returned to Rannoch, living among his adopted family once more. A year after the Four Years War ended, the Council was looking to make the Geth their newest member. The first step, a Geth Spectre. Among the list of choices was David, who was finally chosen to be the first Geth Spectre. Many came to see his induction to the Spectres, including his family. However, tragedy struck. A unknown rogue detonated a bomb in the crowd, killing fifty, and injuring hundreds. Among the dead were Derava and Teff. As David regained his composure, he noticed a limp body on the ground. Upon approach, he recognize the crumpled form of Serei. Picking her up, he gently, but quickly, carried her to the nearby Huerta Memorial. Unfortunately, she died from injuries sustained in the blast.

David went on to become the first Geth Spectre, and has participated in countless assignments. Though he has become less social, and more of a Lone Wolf, he is still one of the top agents ever deployed to the field. He was recently assigned to a team being formed to take on a top secret, and possibly dangerous, new mission.

I was hoping to have a Geth in the party, and a very likeable one at that!

Excellent job, you provided more than enough cotent in your CC for me to gauge your writing ability, so I will not be needing a sample from you.

    Welcome aboard, Orien!

    Keidivh

    Noble exile of High Rock
    Name Saetha T’soni

    Race: Asari

    Age: 94

    Height: 5’5

    Weight: 125 lbs

    Class: Asari Huntress

    Loadout:

    Primary- M-12 Locust

    Secondary- N7 Crusader

Other: Has two mono-edge short swords that she favors in close combat, useful for cutting through unarmored foes and through shields

    Biotics:

    Barrier

    Singularity

    Reave

    Lash

Casual wear: When not in combat, Saetha enjoys simply wearing a black vest and white body suit with hints of purple, a not to discreet homage to her mother.
    upload_2016-6-20_3-11-17.png

Armor: Saetha wears custom designed asari huntress outfit with a black body glove and white plates of armor. This allows for greatly increased mobility, which she uses to her advantage constantly. She makes up for this lack of protection with her biotic barrier.

    upload_2016-6-20_3-11-41.png

Appearance: Saetha looks absolutely nothing like her family. A stark contrast from their dark hues of purple, she has a soft, gentle blue that borders on white that gives off a glow in the light. Unlike her mothers piercing, dark eyes, hers are gentle, a pool of icy blue. She has a small, lithe frame, but as is the usual case with Asari this holds incredible power. There is a small resemblance to her family however through the purple markings that swirl around her face, giving her a small connection to her otherwise distant family. She also wears a small necklace with a faintly glowing gem attached to it, the only thing given to her by her estranged mother.

    upload_2016-6-20_3-12-3.png

Personality: Amongst her kind, Saetha is looked upon as still being nothing more than a child, and she certainly has the naïveté and almost innocence of one it seems like. Abandoned by her family, Saetha has a tendency to cling on to whomever seems to be willing to take her in, and this has led to many pains in her brief existence. Yet still she retains her youthful energetic spirit, in part thanks to her childhood friend and role model Liara. Energetic, bubbly and brimming with enthusiasm, she is always looking for new people to meet, new experiences and adventures to go on. Although this can quickly turn from cute, charming, and quirky, to annoying, clingy, and overbearing. This also has a tendency to get her in situations way over her head. She also deals with feelings of inadequacy, living in the shadows of her family. This passionate drive helped her to become one of the youngest commando’ to date, although she still has many skills to develop. This friendly attitude hides a very hurt individual. Fears of abandonment, abuse and mistrust plague her, and were only worsened when her sister, the only person who cared for her, Liara left to do her damned research. Despite her many faults and fears, Saetha is a warm, compassionate person, only looking for a place to belong.

    History:

Saetha has an interesting and unique childhood, if only for one reason. She was the daughter of Barenziah and sister to Liara T’soni. Like her sister, Saetha was largely estranged from her mother, the woman always remaining cold and distant to her children. The only people the young Asari had to rely on was each other. Liara depended on Saetha’s bubbly personality and joyful, driven spirit, while Saetha depended on Liara’s calming, stable demeanor. But even this bond was strained as Liara became more and more obsessed with her research in Protheans until it seemed she had grown as distant as her mother towards her. So Saetha went to pursue her own intersts, and found the Asari military to be right up her alley.

This seemed to provide exactly what the lost girl neeed, stability, a sense of belonging. Although it didn’t seem to be able to stop herself from getting into trouble as she played a prank on their drill master that caused them to drill until they passed out from exhaustion. Still, Saetha proved to be a skilled warrior, and was at the top of her class in close combat and biotics. Eventually her class was deployed to a small colony that seemed to be suffering raids from Geth, their trials by fire. This small scale incursion turned into a full-fledged invasion quickly however upon their arrival as the enemy showed itself, apparently splinter fleet of the turncoat Saren. It was later revealed that this Asari colony was actually a research site looking into the Protheans. Soon this group of recruits, led by a single commando pack was all that stood between the colonists and annihilation. The first attack was devastating and had nearly overwhelmed their defense as the Geth attacked en masse, and the small group of commandos had died to prevent their defense from floundering. Sensing that they were clearly outmatched, Saetha gathered her remaining recruits with her and fell back deeper into the large capital city of the planet Elthia. The Geth pursued, clearly thinking such a surmising that such a platy force would be swept aside easily. They were mistaken, and the Geth soon found themselves bogged down in a guerilla warfare, loosing large amounts of troops before they realized they were hit, their superior weaponry matched by the biotic fury of the Asari. Amazingly, the line was held until a true military fleet arrived and smashed aside the Geth splinter fleet. Upon landfall they found minimal civilian casualties, but only a few dozen or so recruits left, led by none other than Saetha herself.

After such exemplary leadership and cunning, the young Asari was risen to the rank of commando alongside those that had survived. She was joined by four of them, and together fought any Geth remnants found after Shepards victory bitterly. Despite all this Saetha retained that air of innocence and wonder, and a knack for landing herself and her squadron into trouble. They adventured across the galaxy for some time until the day of reckoning finally came. But this time came to an abrupt end when she was contacted out of nowhere by her estranged sister, asking for help. Eager to reconnect with her only family, and excited by what adventure she might bring, she eagerly accepted, leaving the commandos, but taking the gear. She earned it, right? This little favor though spiraled into a full fledged action-vid as her, Liara, and none other than Commander Shepard himself fought across Illium to hunt down the one known as the Shadowbroker. This turned out to be the adventure of a lifetime! And her brutal skills as a commando went far in allowing her to keep up. When they reached the Brokers lair a brutal battle broke out. The beast was massive and vicious, unlike any species she had encountered before. But her experience in the field paid off, and with Shepard distracting it, she was able launch a brutal attack from his rear, using her bitotics to enhance her strength and carve her twin blades deep into his flesh. From that moment on, she became a freelance agent of the new Shadow Broker, her sister.

This allowed her to go seek out many new adventures with her sister pointing her to the most interesting places in the galaxy, generally with the intention of recovering valuable intelligience. Not that Saetha cared, as long as she got to be with her sister and sate her natural wanderlust and adventurous spirit. This has led her to become a renowned and feared agent of the shadows, rather humorous given her kind, jovial attitude. Liara had found many uses for her sister during the Reaper War, and used her to help spearhead the defense of Thessia, giving Shepard and her the chance they needed to recover some kind of catalyst there. She also worked extensively against Cerberus, as she led many raids against their compounds.

She was well regarded after the war, and it is said the Council has considered giving her a position as a Spectre for her service in the great war. For now though she travels the galaxy, always on the look out for a new adventure.

Excellent job Keidivh, as usual :)

I do have one problem with it, you refer to the race as "Asarian." I may be missing something, but aren't they always referred to as just Asari?

Either way, it's not a big deal.

I'm very pleased with the current cast. We have 4 very unique characters from various backgrounds with well thought out backstory - at least you three, I'm not sure about mine. That'll give us an interesting group dynamic.

    Great job guys!

Thanks Ryder! I fixed that little issue! And all of the the characters are looking quite interesting, including yours sir! I can't wait to see what kind of mayhem they get in to! :p

Alright, so we have four people. Should we start developing the plot and see if anyone shows up?

Ok, the most popular of the options in the poll would be the biotic-oriented option.

Personally, I imagined that some kind of extreme scientist group looking to better develop biotics for their own cause, however their studies require a better understanding of biotics and they must perform...experiments on live subjects.

    Opinions?

    Questions?

    Ideas?

Here's an idea. I think the original plot of Mass Effect was centered around the usage of dark energy (biotics, mass effect fields) and how this was the reason the Reapers would come and harvest the sentient beings of the Galaxy. Something along the lines of constant abuse of dark energy was leading to the destruction of the Galaxy and the Reapers came about as a way to stop this? Idk, it's been a while since I've looked into this. I believe this is what the plot was centered around at first, but then they changed it to synthetic vs. organic life for whatever reason.

Maybe a Saren-like individual learns this was the truth behind the Reaper invasions, and attempts to carry out their mission in the belief that he/she is saving the Galaxy?

Hm, that's definitely a start. I'll see what I can come up with.

Ok, from what I can figure out, Saren was never after biotics, nor do I remember any mention of Biotics possibly having a negative effect on the galaxy. I think what you're thinking of is the fact that the Reapers are the ones who created the Mass Effect technology, and thus force technological development down a path they created.

    However,

It is an interesting premise, and one that we can use. So, how about this.

Our Antagonist or Saren-like individual is a scientist. A very good one at that. After a recent study proves that biotics can interfere with dark energy and the mass-relays, he begins to look into their origins, discovering the little-known (and confidential) fact that all Mass Effect technology is indeed Reaper technology. After hacking into the various databases of the Council and their affiliates, he discovers that civilization was not supposed to develop past a certain point. It is then that he comes to the conclusion that we have developed too far and toy with power mere mortal-kind should not wield. He also fears that Reaper technology has indoctrinated us unknowingly (because everything Mass Effect related is Reaper tech) and without their guidance, we will spiral into our twisted doom.

He then makes the jump that biotics are Reaper technology in another form (because it's primarily eezo-based) and thus Biotics are the uncontrolled pawns of the Reapers and, when left uncontrolled, will cause unparalleled damage, as he believes they are meant to be commanded by the Reapers. He starts to attack Biotics and kidnap them, either torturing information out of them (which is unsuccessful because they lack connections to the Reapers) or indoctrinating to see if he can prove his theory about Biotics being Reaper-tech. Or he outright kills them.

After getting nowhere with his...research into the matter, he is able to pull up a confidential report on the exact effects of the Crucible. (I'll leave the final choice out of this) He then discovers that it did not extend past the reaches of the known galaxy, and not into the dark-space where Reapers are rumored to hide. In an effort to prove his theory - which he believes is true, and has driven himself mad and become partially indoctrinated due to contact with his stolen Reaper Artifacts - he tracks down unmapped relays and begins to form a large backing and becomes a sort of extremist group known as "Lord's Light" and retraces Saren's steps in an effort to find any clues, going on an absolute murder spree in the process. He finds one that points to the unmapped Beta 6A relay. He travels through the relay (using a stolen IFF tag because Beta 6A is like Omega 4) and finds a very small, yet ancient detachment of Reapers and inadvertently activates them with his presence. Thus causing a small version of the Reaper war in Mass Effect 3 where a new technology must be found and used against them (with way less ramifications than the Crucible).

So, it would take out group through a murder-mystery, to a race to discover where and what our antagonist is planning to do/go, to try and stop this guy, and finally a race and pinched battle to find the final weapon to use against the ancient Reapers.

    What do you think?

Seems good! As a side note though the whole biotics/dark energy plot was the original intent of Bioware's writing team, but it never made it to the final game as they scrapped it in favor of the synthetics/organics shin-dig.

Sorry about the lack of activity here lately.

So, we have a cast, and a general plot, but how should we start all of this?

Perhaps we could all be on a frontier world that happens to be a target of the mad doctor and his extremists? Would be a good way to get dragged into the conflict?

I was thinking of something a bit more subtle, like an anonymous attack on the citadel or my character or Keidivh's getting attacked.

    I'm not sure.

Hey, I know I've been a long time out of the RPing game, but if you'd have me (and if the RP is still open), I'd love to take part in this. I've only got two weeks of work left, then I'm on holiday til September so I'll have a lot of spare time to devote to it.

PS: Loving the current pick for the plot (attacks on biotics), it's very imaginative - and also, having been a big fan of the Overlord DLC for ME2, which played fairly well on those horror elements, I'd love to see a good scary ME RP.
