Serana has really awesome plot development, you get to spend time with her more than any other companion, and you get to visit new places together. You help her out with her problems, help her family troubles, and in the end... you can't romance her. She says she's afraid of temples and commitment. What's that about? Anyone else here disappointed you can't marry her, or is it for the best?

Initially, I was very sad to learn that I couldn't marry Serana. I thought she was super cool and a great companion. However, I've played the Dawnguard questline so many times that I know it like the back of my hand now. The more and more I've played the questline, the more that I've realized that I have more parental feelings towards her. Her plopsty parents kind of made me feel like I should protect her. Incidentally, I've also found myself liking Isran a whole lot more. A lot more.

Tl;dr: I initially wanted to marry Serana but now I'd rather tap Isran's ass.

While I was disappointed at first as well, I do see where she's coming from and actually kinda like her more for it. I feel like she becomes more family then a romantic partner by the end...of course I've played through it multiple times and it is my favorite DLC.
