How cool would it be if they incorporate the settlement building from Fallout 4 into the next Elder Scrolls.

From custom castles to shanties, with the ability to trap and tame creatures.

I could get into having a few Sabre Cats roaming around my castle, and a Mammoth or two to roam around outside.

Time for some ale
Indeed, I've often imagined building Kohlarstad, a settlement built around Kohlar's Heljarchen Hall comprising his followers, his followers followers, and all of their families. It'd feature a meadery and brewery, and training hall for the Ale Heart Guild, of which Kohlar is the founder. All who wish to train, or simply discuss the philosophy of combat and of life while enjoying some ale are welcome. :beermug:

Well, it'd be a really cool idea IMO, especially if the game takes place in Elseweyr or Valenwood. But I'd prefer if there was some kind of reward for it, not like the pointless chore that FO4 has given us. Like, constant raids by bandit parties to loot your settlement for valuables and you've to manage it from time to time, creating a trade route to appease your citizens and making some dough (like a city sim). Or better yet, if you can create your own faction and either side with the other major factions or fight as an independent empire from your basement.

I haven't played FO4, I've thought about it, I might. Not sure it's really my kind of game. But that actually sounds neat, being able to build up your own settlement.

Take it from me. It is.

You've been here long enough so that I'm sure you remember how anti-shooter I was and anti-Fallout as well.

These wonderful people eventually convinced me to try it and I've been hooked ever since.

Honestly - it's not that different from Skyrim. Different weapons and different enemies, but it's a lot like TES.

It's worth it. I promise. I just started games of F3, FNV AND F4 at the same time.

Skyrim sits gathering dust at the moment, but after 7.5K hours, it can wait a bit. :)

Imminent "Screw it, I'm going back to Skyrim" thread ahead. I give it a fortnight. :beermug:

I always go back to Skyrim when Fallout frustrates me (and it will - I guarantee it: endless fetch/kill quests, predictable baddies, shallow writing, situations so unbelievable that they can do nothing but take you out of immersion, endless parades of unneeded customization, psychotic and pathological slaughter and pitfighting DLC's, etc...). Skyrim will always be my first love, but Fallout comes in a close second.

To me - while TES will always be King of the RPG to me, I will always be eternally grateful to my fellow SR Forumers for convincing me to try Fallout. I take great joy in it. :)

The settlements were my favorite new feature of Fallout 4. I would love to see that incorporated into skyrim. Valenwood would be a great place for a settlement.
