Daelon DuLac
How do you backstab a Dragon?
True. I suppose the entire questline wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been so poorly written. Neither Delphine, nor Esbern had any redeemable characteristics to them. They were just unpleasant and didn't really offer any sort of "assistance" at all. They just order you about and then give you ultimatums if you don't do exactly what they tell you to do. Sad really 'cause I kind of liked the blades in Oblivion. To be fair on the Blades they don't actually swear to serve you as so many assume. Delphine herself makes it clear she's acting Grandmaster and they will aid you on your path, but ultimately they've gone back to being Dragonguard and seek to slay all dragons. The Blades only ever served the Dragonborn Emperors a long time ago and not once do they ever say they're at your command.
Personally I just found them unpleasant and dictatorial, narrow minded and paranoid (understandably), and ultimately pointless.
I never help them, admittedly, but, in some ways I do feel for them and the loss of their respectability and glory.
