I'm glad you like the nickname. Dawnguard will also be good for you because of the woman who studies dwarvern technology and helps you create new crossbows and bolts.

Man, I really want to start my own dwemer obsessed character now. I rarely use DLC, though, so it'll be mostly vanilla stuff for me.

I already started! Yesterday I did some quests to level up a little. My smithing is at level 28, soon I will get the dwarven perk.

Brutus having some fun:

And I was having a lot of trouble to kill the enemies. Discovered that I was playing on Expert. Didn't change! :Dovahkiin:

I never realized how cool would be to play with a character obsessed with dwarven artifacts. I'm very very anxious to level up this guy!

Hello guys!

I'm having a lot of fun playing with this character. Brutus is already at level 15.

I need to say that Berseker Rage is an amazing skill! It always saves my life. I was doing the quest Proving Honor, of the Companions and in the end [***Spoiler***] you have to kill 15 draugr at the same time!!! [/***Spoiler***] I don't know if it would be possible without it!

I'm also using Elemental Fury a lot. I found this shout somewhere and it's very useful.

Two fun things happened this weekend:

1 - One day, in the middle of the night, I stole some steel and iron ingots from Alvor. Other day I came to Riverwood and 3 hired thugs came to fight me. They were well armored (steel armor and steel weapons), but I destroyed them in front of him, letting the contract on the top of the bodies. :Dovahkiin:

2 - I was arriving in Markarth after a long journey and I found 3 Thalmor with a prisioner. I didn't think twice: I destroyed the bastards and released the prisioner. It happened before the bridge. When I crossed the bridge, the Markarth guards started attacking me. Why? The Thalmor have business in Markarth? And if Thalmor is in Markarth, why there is a shrine of Talos in the city? Anyway, I had to reload a previous save to do things the right way.

Some adventures below:

- A common citizen slaying a Dragon

- The Blazing Centurion teaching good manners to a bandit (I love this fatality!)

4CA1A1CACA93EE0EF3D133080385F4D0E5EC20BF

- I didn't made the entire armor yet. I was carrying too much weight (2 armors) to keep the role-play (until I reach Blackreach and mount there my secret base) and I had to active the Steed Stone. Anyway, I think this picture is very cool:

- Destroying the Thalmor (priceless moment)

ECCAC5697FE33D6335B8E293DAFC1810FFD2F9D6

- Always is a good time to learn good manners:

CC4590C6F8E37C67B235E3BF528F8F28E01E407E

- Arriving in Markarth

389D9675144D35DA06F23BA245C8E7BD4777F9B1

Hope you guys like it!

I'm amazed how strong he becomes when wearing the Dwarven Armor. Of course I improved the armor, but I didn't put any enchantments yet (I put only in the 1 handed weapons that he uses as a "common citizen").

Now I have the following objectives:

- Buy the house of Markarth
- Reach Blackreach
- Level up destruction to achieve the flame cloak spell
- Join the College of Winterhold

After that, I can start doing only what matters: exploring dwemer ruins and randomly killing bad guys. :D

Kohlar the Unkilled

Time for some ale
Go to the docks at Riften and seek out the Argonian From-Deepest-Fathoms. She'll send you on a quest that will be of particular relevance to your character. :beermug:

Thanks Kohlar!

I will try to do it soon, Riften is very far (I don't like to use carriages). I'm planning a trip where I go to Dawnstar, then Yisra's Beachside Combustion (where there is a book of Flame Cloak), then Winterhold (when I'm close, I always check the big cities in my map, so I can fast-travel later). After that, I will go to Windhelm (to join the Stormcloaks) and it's a good idea end the travel in Riften. Anyway I need level 20 to achieve the quest to be able to buy the house in Markarth, so I have a lot of time to do random stuff.

I have to confess that I'm having a lot of fun with this character. I'm always so perfectionist, and now I'm playing with less compromise. :)

There are Thalmor in the jarl's palace in Markarth and they actually give you a quest to investigate someone who is worshiping Talos. I'm not sure if they stay there after you help Stormcloaks win the war.

Any way, this thread has given me lots of ideas to do my own Dwemer obsessed orc, so I hope you don't mind if I start my own take on this RP soon.

sticky runes,

This explanation answers my questions. I will find a way to deal with those bastards.

I am very happy that this thread gave you ideas! And you helped a lot with this build. I will be very happy if you start your character based on it! Also, it would be cool if you post your stuff here, so we can exchange ideas and make this thread more rich to everyone who have interest in this kind of gameplay.

I play on PS3, not PC, so I won't be able to upload exciting screenshots like yours, but I will definitely try to keep you posted about my character's story.

Maybe this can be a new thing to help liven these forums up again - Someone comes up with a suggestion for a type of character and different users go off and start their own journey and share their interpretation of that character. Could be fun!

Don't worry about the screenshots.

THIS is a great idea!!!!

If anyone wants to try it, please post your information here!

Let's go ahead and extent to chars of any race (not only Orcs) fascinated by the Dwemer culture.

I think a mage scholar type character who studies the Dwemer would make an interesting build too (we meet quite a few NPCs like that, so why not play as one?!). A mage wouldn't likely be using all the dwarf armour and weapons for combat, but he could give them to his followers so that he has his own Dwarvern clad body guards to protect him during his investigations in Dwemer Ruins!

Sticky,

Sounds cool a mage with a follower covered in dwarven metal! Specially if the mage uses only robes and hoor. But a partial dwarven armor would be nice too (boots and gauntlets, or armor and boots).

Talking about followers, you guys suggested me Durak, but he is skilled in light armor, and I wouldn't like to put a heavy armor in him.

So I think that I need a follower that is skilled in heavy armor, have a good level cap (at least 40) and, if possible, like the Dwarven culture.

Yes, you are thinking in Mjoll the Lioness, but she is my favourite follower and I always use her, so I want to choose another person.

I'm now checking the followers page to learn more about them. If you remember somebody, please tell me.

*** EDIT ***

I think Vorstag will be perfect for the job. He is skilled in heavy armor, have a level cap of 40 and is interested in dwemer artifacts. He is also skilled in one-handed and block (using a dwarven shield he will be very hard to kill, I suppose).

Marcurio, a mage, is interested in dwemer too.

Just making sure: are you playing on console/on PC without the unofficial patch?
Because if not, then Vorstag will be skilled in light armour rather than heavy (his armour and skills are mismatched in the vanilla game). If you have an unmodded game, then no worries. :D

You should prioritize accumulating Dwemer artifacts. You could create your character around the Dwemer ruins. The Mages college is great for Dwemer oriented quests.

I'm in the vanilla game. So he is really skilled in light armor? I think Marcurio will get an heavy armor... :D

Well, here's my take on the orc dwemer collector...

His name is Ushamborz, and he is the son of Dulug (the orc miner you can meet in Dushnik Yal)
Those who are close to him call him Usham for short.

Ushamborz was originally born in Bilegulch mine, but when he was a young pup, he and his mother were betrayed and driven out by the other orcs. They were invited to join the tribal stronghold of Dushnik Yal by the chief's brother, Ghrobash the Ironhand. Dulug became a valued miner for the tribe, while Usham learned alchemy from the wisewoman Murbal, and smithing from the forgewife Gharol.

Ushambors became good friends with Gharol's daughter, Lash. One day, the two youngsters climbed to the top of the watchtower and Ushamborz noticed a strange structure to the north of the stronghold and wanted to take a closer look. It was the Dwemer ruin known as Reachwind Eyrie. While the other orcs of the tribe were aware of its presence, none of them took interest in Dwemer relics, as the orcs took great pride in their own orcish craft. But Ushamborz became fascinated with the shining artifacts he found inside the tower and would often leave the stronghold and spend hours inside Reachwind Eyrie studying the metal and stonework. He longed to one day possess his own suit of Dwarven style armour.

When Ushamborz became a bit older, he visited Markarth for the first time, and was fascinated by the sight of the entire city which dwarfed the orcish settlements he was used to living in, with it's impressive stonework and statues and manufactured waterways. He longed to one day have his own house in the city. He tried to visit the wizard, Calcelmo, but the wizard dismissed Usham, as he was busy organizing an expedition into the dwarven ruins of Nchuand Zel.

But Ushamborz did find a scrap of paper among Calcelmo's discarded notes - it was a map with the location of a Dwemer ruin called Avanchnzel. Ushamborz took it upon himself to investigate these ruins, located far to the east in the Rift. Ushamborz managed to scrape up enough gold to buy a horse and supplies and headed east. He found the ruins he was seeking, but could not find a way to enter. It was then that he encountered a group of Imperial soldiers who were tracking a horse thief. The captain decided she wanted the orc's horse and she ordered her men to attack. Ushamborz was knocked unconscious and stripped of his belongings and thrown into a prison cart, which was bound for Helgen.

There, Ushamborz was condemned to execution by the very captain who took his horse. He tried to explain that he was friends with Ghorbash gro Dushnik, an orc who served in the Imperial army, but he was ignored and sent to the execution block. Then chaos broke out when the town was attacked by a dragon. Usham managed to escape during the confusion with the aid of a kindly soldier named Hadvar.

After escaping Helgen, Usham spent some time in Riverwood and Whiterun, but longed to be surrounded by Dwemer constructs again. He made his way back to Markarth and resumed his quest to search for Dwemer artifacts.

Amazing, sticy runes!

I paused Brutus a little. I'm playing with my main character now (finishing main questline and reaching 100 in enchanting). Soon I will be back with more news.

So I'm in my 50s with my Orc dwemer enthusiast now, and it has been lots of fun. I got the dwemer spider follower from Kagrumez, which i admit I've never done before. It's annoying how there aren't really any prompts to go and explore that place, you just randomly wander into it. I did try the dwemer sphere follower but it seems to have died (I might have accidentally killed it in the arena) but the spider is a very cute pet, especially when it stretches up on it's legs to look around with its pincers <3

Having a dwemer machine for a follower is also good for keeping the dwarven theme going when you take on quests that aren't Dwemer related. So I can go into ancient nord ruins and take on hordes of draugr without feeling like I'm stepping out of character because I've got a clunky metallic spider at my side.
