Hey everyone!
I have only just started playing Skyrim this month, and I have enjoyed the game, but there is still much I don't understand. I hope I can improve my gaming experience and meet some new people. Does anyone have any tips for new players?

I've been raiding caves and slaughtering thieves for loot...and I somehow ended up completing a quest for Whiterun? o_O Also, how do you tame a dragon? What can you use dragon bones for?

Hey Talia, and welcome to the Skyrim Forums! Just to answer some questions, you should open your journal to see how and who to hand in your quests to, you can't really tame one completely and keep as a pet but you can get help from a select few, and dragon bones and scales are used for high level smithing ingredients. :)

Loot everything and check around. It's sometimes useful to take a look around.

You don't want to start taming dragons right now since you just started and dragon bones can be sold and are a crafting ingredient for end-game armor. So you might want to store those so you can use them when you get 100 blacksmith and can create dragon armor. Back to dragon taming, you get that when you have the Dragonborn DLC and I wouldn't recommend it if you're a low lvl.

To start you should probably follow the guide:

And welcome to the community :beermug:

Hello! Everyone calls me Nuro, but you... you can call me Nuro. Unless you don't want to. Then, do whatever. Welcome to the forums, though! And, like the others have said; loot, loot, loot and loot some more! Sell what you don't need, and try not to die. The dragon taming is, unfortunately, really hard to achieve until later in the game. But, definitely fun to do when you can. Don't be afraid to ask for help, basically everyone on the forum will be happy to answer any other questions. Except @Cordelia cause she's mean. ;) Welcome again!

Well, I was wondering if it was a good idea to sell those bones, now I'm glad I didn't! I guess I'll have to...buy or download the DLC? Thank you for the advice, Monsters the Jester! I really appreciate it! :D

The DLC is very fun. Though, to be fair, I've only finished Dragonborn, and fully built one house in Hearthfire, so I can't speak to anything else. I am exploring the Dawnguard now, but I haven't fired up Skyrim in a little while, so progress is, at best, non-existent.

As for Nuro, he'll face time in three-weeks dungeon for his crimes.

I, however, am incredibly nice, and approachable. ^__^

It's a three-weeks dungeon. That's what kind.

And do not make me encourage people to say even nicer things about you, Nuro, because I will. <3

IF no-one has mentioned this you could do a lot of sneaking around (you might already know) because then it because easier for you to hide and steal l8r on

:) :)

Two other things because I just thought of them. You can create potions using ingredients if you want, give it a shot. Use for selling or healing or whatever.

Second, craft daggers and sell for a couple of purposes!! Money (of course) and to increase skill level.

Don't waste time trying to carry dragon bones in the early game. Sell them or store them if you have a safe container (player owned house or a few other locations which I can point you to if you really want to know)

They are far too heavy and the you won't be using them for awhile.

Pre 1.5, yes, but post 1.5 crafting uses simliar xp gains to alchemy so more valuable items give more xp. So early on, rings would be best for leveling smithing.

You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.
Greetings and welcome to the Forums, TaliaAl. Just started Skyrim? Oooo, I kinda envy you. All that gameplay brand new again. HAVE FUN! :D
