Hi there

So i have a habit of going through the games main story lines and finishing it asap. My quest log is full of side quests that i have yet to do.

Just wondering, are the quests like kill x monster loot x amount of stuff and so forth ? Its just my experience with rpgs (namely WoW).

Heard that skyrim is an amazing game so i thought i would try it out.

They range from the ridiculous (bring me a bottle of wine) to mini-story lines (Stones of Berenziah, collecting the Dragon priest masks etc.), with everything in between. The interesting aspect is you often have no idea where an initial request or discovery will lead you.

Exactly, some quests can lead to some interesting mini stories like with the wolf queen.

Some of the side quests and misc quests only are in specific dungeons. My first playthrough, I found all of them because I'd been told: "Go here and kill that monster/fetch my item."

Some can lead to hilarious things, that Sven/Faendal/Camilla love triangle in Riverwood was funny if you got Faendal to write a fake letter (From Sven) to Camilla.

My drive to doing side quests is the possibility of encountering a new necromancy target amongst other things

Basically theres a tonne of adventures waiting for you, theres no rush to do main quests and the sidequests are so interesting themselves you'll have lots of fun.

Radiant quests are a bit dull, and repetitive at times, but theres enough variation in those aswell to keep entertained. So many places give Radiant quests, Thieves guild, Companions, Dark brotherhood etc

Something you should note is that there are some side quests that appear like a surprise.

For example, I remember that after killing a completely random guy in a farm near Windhelm, I got a letter thanking me for it and inviting me to meet. I don't quite remember what followed, but that was pretty cool.
