I love reading fan theories. Especially about the lore itself.

I'm sick and tired about hearing the same old "end of the world because bugs" stuff Lol. I want something different.

Me and an old friend would have hours of debates off of the elder scrolls lore. I haven't seen him in a couple years. So I wanna hear your theories!

Like:
Daedra stuff
Aedra
wheres the Dwemer?
What really happened to the snow elves?

Etc. :)

DON'T EXPECT SPOILER WARNINGS FROM ME
Im the first one, so, let us.... begin.
MY FAV. Dwemers, they arent dead... they are just invisible, and very very silent! (sneak level.... ITS OVER 9000)
Snow elves, They breeed like ants, literally, they have 1 mother, that gives births to all others.. she is huge, and resembles to that statue. But, at one generation,... she got a fukin cancer! To eyes... So all her children contracted that illness of blindness!! And dwemers enslaved them... they are having them as slaves even now!!

Aedra... gods... Alduin, Akatosh... hmmm They say aedra protect mortals from evil daedra as return for worship... wrong! Akatosh gave birth to fukin Alduin.. So, we come to conclusion... They dont protect any1, afterall, mundus is just one small spot in whole Oblivion. Then what do they do? Well, aedra and daedra are like... hm, brothers and sisters? no? well the difference is that aedra are "our ancestors" and daedra "are not". But that doesnt mean they dont have connection between eachother. They are both immortals, and "we are mortal"="we come and go" means, "we wont be present forever". So, why should they (aedra) start war with some major deadra over mortlas, when we are just part of their immortality? So, no, aedra pretty much prottect us for the fun, too... and obviusly, Akatosh got bored.

Well there's the "We are the Dwemer" theory and a few others that are pretty interesting, but I'm short on time so I'll have to elaborate later. I'm sure you've probably heard all the good ones before though.

My personal theory on why the Dwemer blinded the snow elves is that they did this so that the Falmer couldn't see and pass on any of their secrets. I mean as we know, the Dwemer were hugely advanced in many ways. I'm sure they wouldn't want just anyone to know the secrets to those advancements. It's a hell of a way to ensure secrecy but I think it makes the most sense.
As for what happened to them, you do get a few hints if you translate the Falmer tomes from the Forgotten Vale. They were driven literally underground by Nords who wanted to kill them all, their leader (I assume?) the Snow Prince died, and then their only salvation - the Dwemer - exacted a horrible price to give them shelter. Maybe it was just to much and added on to the poison given to blind them, maybe there were more side effects then even the Dwemer were aware of. Or maybe that wasn't the only price the Dwemer exacted on the Falmer. Maybe they did experiments on them that twisted them into what they are now. Being blinded, it wouldn't be hard to slip all kinds of things into their food and drink. Maybe the Dwemer slipped other poisons in to see what they did. Of course this is all conjecture, though.
As for where the Dwemer went - well you get a hint about that if you do the quest Arniel's Endeavor. SPOILER WARNING.

I think they messed with one to many things and accidently teleported themselves to some other dimension. Or possibly, they advanced so far both in technology and magic, that there was nothing left to learn on Nirn. So perhaps their thirst for knowledge drove them all to the next dimension that they could learn from.

Those are the only real theories I can think of off hand. If I think of more I'll post them.

This fan theory is probably wrong since I don't know much about lore so I might say stuff that lore can easily prove wrong, but whatever:

The Dwemer are a very ancient race from some other world, who dedicate themselves to knowledge. So they travel from world to world, investigating everything they can, maybe finding new resources... And once they feel there's nothing left to see, they go somewhere else.

Or.....

The dwemer were are an army. Who they serve I don't know. Maybe they are from another of the continents.
They wanted to conquer Tamriel, so they established underground fortresses, in which they slowly prepared to attack.

After the war at Morrowind, that realized they were done for, so they retreated to their homeland, leaving their fortresses behind, hoping someday they'll return.

Just a couple mad ideas.

I feel as if the dwemer we're tired of mundane wars, theories, science, and life. So building a machine they brought themselves before their god and left tamriel all together.

Going through the backlog of posts for the last four years, I have seen several ideas that were interesting. One was that in some hidden part of Blackreach there is a door that leads you into CIA headquarters, where you find that all of Skyrim is a construct designed to train agents in the next level of cyberwars.

Seems legit.

And I like to imagine that many of Tamriel's inhabitants were relocated from Earth in the far future, including plants and animals along with humanoids. This knowledge is long forgotten by the current inhabitants.

The dissapearance of the dwemers? Surely the Adjustment Bureau had a hand in their fate, Dwemers must've been co operating with the Bureau until they became too advanced to their liking so they tampered with their life expectancy, putting it to a halt.

Well I got a few theories about the dwemer and falmer.

The dwarves got so technologically advanced that they invented a portal to our world in order to acquire pornography. They stayed on Earth forever because of the unlimited access to pr0nz. And the Falmer got so jealous that they couldn't go to Earth with the dwarves and watch the magnificent pr0nz that they went mad and became all gross and Gollum-like and plops.

Argonians and the Hist are the superior beings by the way. Just saying.
