Haven't finished the main quest in years. Ebony Warrior? Who's that guy? Haven't burned the beehives in years. Nazir perpetually waits for me to come talk to him. Esbern rots in the Ratway forever.

For some reason I just prefer the struggle of the early game but I do miss a lot of the late game content.

I agree with this alright. The early parts of the game are for me where it was most immersive and exciting. Now in fairness this may partly be down to the fact that the early parts of the game are (obviously) what I experienced first of the game when I first started playing it, so perhaps there is some element of nostalgia at play here.

Either way, the farthest into the game I've ever gotten is my current play through and I'm only at level 57. My aim is to meet the Ebony Warrior, but I'm finding it's taking an awfully long time to level up at this stage and I'm genuinely wondering if I'll ever make it to 80!

Lmao my main character is stuck at 33 forever because if I level further and my favourite thrall dies, which sometimes he just drops dead for no reason.....

I wont ever be able to rethrall him, 34 is over his thrall cap, so that's never going to happen!

I have so many plans after lvl 33 but just can't get over this sad dilemma, f you thrall cap!

I recently started a new character and got frustrated at the start, because I've been through that process so many times already..."STAY CLOSE TO THE WALL!"...."Dragonborn!"

Aha! Oh yea, another reason exotic thralls annoy me. :)

I've only seen the Ebony Warrior once, but that was with a mod that sets him to spawn at level 30. I didn't talk to him, because I had heard (or rather read) so many stories... :p

I, too, enjoy the struggle of low-level gameplay. Every wolf is a deadly threat, every Bandit Outlaw (or higher) able to oneshot me. :D

I think there's a sweet spot for the game, just after the initial difficulties. I'm just settled in Skyrim, understand what's going on and have started to acquire some decent stuff and build up a skill base but knowing there's more out there. It may just be my play style, but it's easy to get stuck in a "grinding" phase - completing quests just to get more stuff and powers rather than advancing the story line.
