Mod Optimizers. What are they all about?
I am having a little problem with my VRam (The dreaded Purple objects curse). So I started looking in to how to fix it. I don't want to un-install any texture mods I have. What are your thoughts on mod Optimizers? If you think they are worth it, then can you recommend one to me and how best to install it. I haven't tried to manually install anything yet. Just used NMM. Manual install is a little confusing.

And go...

It's for different types of people
I personally don't really need it/care but I guess it's good to have it
Depends on the scenario

In my experience, going through some of the long and tedious processes to optimize textures has resulted in very minimal gains for me. There are some (Skyrim Mods Complex Optimizer comes to mind) that promise far less vram usage, but every time I use an optimizer to pick out and use 2k textures or higher, it's going to eat up vram regardless. I get about the same gains from just installing optimized Hi-Res DLC and vanilla textures and then making sure the right textures are being installed in the right order and the correct files are being overwritten in MO.

If you REALLY need that extra 250mb of vram then it might be worth it, if not just use a standalone optimized Vanilla and hi-res DLC set of textures as a base, the hi-res dlc and some of the crappy vanilla models are very poorly optimized.

Thank you for your opinion. :)
I've come to the conclusion that I will just simply live with it until I can get myself a better graphics card. Owning an IT shop, it wont take that long. :D

So I uninstalled my graphics card...reinstalled it with updated drivers and upped my ram from 8gb to 16gb. So far the game, without taking any more mods off, has been performing well. I have had no CTD's or unrendered purple objects. Fingers crossed that was all it needed, and it holds out until I can buy a new card.

Hey Sah, Im ok.. been going through some really tough personal things at the moment..
My game is so far, great, now that I've updated the driver for my Graphics card and upped the ram from 8 to 16.
So I'm not going to be looking into any stabiliser thingamys at the moment. :)

Just finished going through The Forgotten Vale.. WOW that place is beautiful. My favourite spot in all of Skyrim.
