For most of us its been a few years since we first started playing the legendary Skyrim. So tell me (if you can remember) What was the very first thing you did? I remember I escaped from Helgen and immediately started running or maybe swimming right past Riverwood(since I stayed in the river all the way down) and then immediately upon seeing Whiterun, I took off to my left and saw a giant........that's the first of many times I volunteered for the Skyrim Space Program. That was what I did how about everyone else?

As a side note answer the poll if you would please Thank you :)

Well, that didn't occur to me either. Actually, when I first played Skyrim, I was completely lost. It had been my only "real" RPG(you know, not a web one) besides Dragon Age: Origins(which had only played for about half an hour), so I was compleeeertely lost.

I tried to follow the main questline, but I was stuck at Riverwood. I went with that smith's mission to get you started on smithing but I never managed to make a dagger(today, I still don't know if it was a bug or me being incompetent), I (obviously) did the golden claw thing, and it took me forever to find the place, then forever to kill the spider, then forever to come back, finally discovering fast travel at about 5 meters from Riverwood.

Then my character went on a crazy rampage:
Main questline, mages college, Dark Brotherhood, Civil war, Companions, Main questline... I finally deleted my save files and began all over again.

Ahhh... The sweet sweet memories. I remember following Hadvar cause I didn't know what else to do. Fighting my way out of the castle was awsome! I remember Hadvar taking care of most of the enemies while I figured out how to attack. I was scared to death of the best and snuck around him. On our way to Riverwood Hadvar killed the wolves before I finally figured out how to draw my weapons!

In Riverwood I got the make the dagger stuff from the Smith and never follwed through cause I didn't know that it would do anything. I did the golden claw quest first and didn't help Sven or the elf cause I thought they were both scumbags.

What funny is I didn't know you could fast travel for the longest time. I was SUCH a noob. [emoji1]

What great memories and such AWE at the game. I kinda miss those days when I didn't Know what I was doing or what to expect.

I did the main questline all the way to sovngaurd without finding out how to level up. At that point I was broke from buying hundreds of healing potions, and once I figured out how to level up (I was playing on Xbox without a flat screen so I couldn't read the hints in the upper left corner) I started over

Went to Embershard Mine and got annihilated by two fur wearing bandits.

To be honest, I'd actually watched my sister playing on her Xbox before I ever got the game myself, so I kinda knew what to do a little already. But if you want the absolute truth... The very first thing I did, before I even got the start button... I downloaded a ton of mods and crashed my computer graphics card XD. Apparently my computer doesn't like to run so many mods at once. But anyways, I typically follow Ralof, simply because I find the imperials to be elitist stuck up snobs. But yeah, I also have the Prima guide legendary edition, so I tried to follow that. I guess I'm a bit of a smart noob in that I've never really made those mistakes you guys have. Oh well.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
My first time through I:
1) apparently hit the button to sneak so I snuck through the entirety of Helgen and all the way to Riverwood never hit anybody since I didn't know how to draw my weapon, let alone get out of 1st person view
2) when I ran in to the giant frostbite spider at Bleak Falls, it probably took me over an hour to kill it since I was a) Still sneaking and b) still using an unimproved longbow and iron arrows. I was so excited when I finally killed it that I actually cheered!

I followed Hadvar to Riverwood and then went to warn the Jarl like a good little player doing exactly what the game obviously expected me to, talking to absolutely everyone I met. I didn't manage to focus on any quest for ages due to my habit of talking to absolutely everyone I met as I have a pathological fear of missing on game content.

Escaped Helgen just fine, followed Hadvar outside, watched Alduin fly off into the distance. Then Hadvar said that oddly-worded line about "best to go our separate ways", so I wandered off on my own and ran right into the bandit camp just off the trail and died.

Thanks Hadvar.

Oh, he too tricked me with his "separate ways". At first, when he said, I was like " Oh well, guess I'll have to learn how to play on my own", so I started walking at a normal pace(10x faster than NPC pace), until I realized that he was talking and decided to hear what he had to say and then leave. Damn Hadvar kept on talking all the way to Riverwood.

My first death was close to the second option, but I DID bring a weapon, and well...

I was stupid. Let's leave it at that. XD

What was the first thing I did after leaving helgen? Let's see...
Yes, I remember now. By unknonwn reasons I followed Havdarr, although I had planned to tag along with Ralof. He took that shortcut close to Embershard mine but once again -by unknown reasons- my character ended venturing inside the mine.

The memories of my first death are quite vivid: By that time, I was at level 12 when I paid an early visit to Halldir's Cairn, unaware of the danger dwelling in that place. Needless to say, Halldir Obliterated me with his magic spells. I attempted to make a run for it to the entrance gate, only to find it tightly shut...

I remember my first death. It was the area in Bleak Falls Barrow with the section where you can climb down the ice path to a river area with the locked chest. I just jumped off and wondered why my character was lying motionless on the ground, realisation only dawning when I was dumped back to fifteen minutes ago.

It was certainly a portent of things to come. The majority of my deaths are still me completely misjudging the height of that jump rather than combat.
