Anyone have any experience with this? My wife's not really a gamer. She used to play Mario Bros. and Tetris... I truly believe that if she actually got going in Skyrim that she'd enjoy it. I've enticed her by stating that she can play as a "cat person" or a "lizard person." Anyone have any success stories? Or perhaps horror stories? :beermug:

My s.o. is indeed a gamer as well, but with very different preferences.
I tried getting him to play skyrim, but he cast it aside in the middle of the beginning sequence in Helgen claiming that it was ugly and boring as fluff.

To this day he keeps teasing me about liking it and it being ugly :D

My husband agreed to give it a try. He made a character named Prisoner (haven't we all) and played for an hour or so. He seemed to like it well enough, but it definitely wasn't a successful conversion. He hasn't played it again since, though now and then he'll watch me play.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
Haven't been able to in all the time it's been out.

Fallout, on the other hand, that one I did succeed with!

Misha says that Skyrim reminds him of a bad LOTR movie and is endlessly annoyed by the voice acting.

Why the same isn't true of Fallout I'll never know.

Well, there is one that replaces them with Spiderman's, but it's really creepy.

Nice! :beermug:

I forgot to mention that I set it to Novice for her. I had NO idea how easy novice is. I mean let's be clear, the first time my wife got jumped by bandits on the way to Bleakfalls, the camera was panning around all over the place as she panicked, weapon swinging haplessly against the empty air as she's pelted with arrows and maces... it was quite a sight, but she managed to kill them with little more than a scratch when all was said and done. Tonight I intend to pair her up against a draugr and show her the finer points of blocking and keeping the camera aimed steadily. Novice really is ideal for people who have absolutely no idea what they're doing BUT, once she gets the hang of things I'll turn the difficulty up one notch (without telling her) because really... it's just tooooo easy.

My husband wouldn't even try. He is all C.O.D and Halo... which is dumb because isn't Halo like Skyrim but with aliens? Whenever he has watched me play, for only a few seconds mind you, he walks off shaking his head muttering something about it being a boring game. "Well you try fighting a Legendary dragon, two vampires and one angry bear all at once and then try to call it boring..." whatever....

Difficulty level apprentice. She had her first legit death, at the hands of a master vampire, (I'm not counting the giant that I told her to run up to), at level 7 or 8 last night. I haven't gotten her to play much, but last night I watched her play until 3:30 AM not realizing how late it was.

Turns out she's an alchemist. This due to the fact that she's obsessed with picking everything. Everything. It's really all she cares about, but I did advise her to put a perk into enchanting and get that going, as alchemy and enchanting is a powerful combination that can negate the need for one or two handed perks.

get her to collect these three ingredients and combine them: Creep Cluster + Scaly Pholiota + Mora Tapinella
The three easiest ingredients to collect, given they are all over Skyrim.. but they make one hell of a potion and levels you up quickly..not to mention your gold if you sell.
