Yeah, sorry we kinda just did what we wanted there. Looking forward to the OOC if that's the one you end up choosing and, of course, we will respect your decision as to who can join.

I've had a couple ideas. One, it will be up soon. And two:

Ideas containing that everyone will get to control a faction in Tamriel that may get involved in another Great War. Meaning, we get all sides of what's going on in different cultures and factions. This could help make interesting plot lines and stories, as well as the struggles the people of different kingdoms/factions have to make. Also they may control up to 2 people/characters. If they are very active and dedicated they may take up more characters of other factions. All players can submit plot lines or even make plot lines with other players in private. This could make it very interesting in seeing how other characters or factions interact with what happens.

Note, it is NOT a kingdoms roleplay. However once the story does reach a certain point, leaders of respective peoples will come into play. Whether or not it gets to this point is up to the players and how active they are. I'll explain the whole thing in the thread I'll be making. So rest assured, it's NOT a kingdoms roleplay and hopefully all questions will be answered. I'll also probably put up a Q&A since when I join a roleplay it has people asking various questions. Questions that are repeated often. Nothing wrong with that but it's best to put up some answers.

I will make it so that everyone first off controls a minor character in a big plot, that way if someone disappears or drops the roleplay they can be put off to the side easily without any consequences. I still have to work out the details on that.

Also, I'll probably only be recruiting experienced and dedicated roleplayers. However, I'll take a couple new people if they are willing to learn. If you are new to the forums but are experienced in RP then I suppose I'll have to go with your word on that. Perhaps writing something in example either from a story you wrote or a RP you were apart of will do.

Anyway, it should be up in a day or two. Max amount of players I'm still deciding. It depends on how much attention it gets.

People separated controlling characters in different factions to get a broader PoV... That's basically an enemy to the lifespan of an RP and will require an immense amount of faith in the creativity and dedication of each member.

It may just be my personal taste but I also find it disconnects me from the characters, and cuts away a huge part of the group dynamic.

And then we have the fact that Skyrim stories on their own are great, but I have seen a VERY large amount of "post stormcloak rebellion" RPs and it has become a somewhat generic subject matter. Going to require a lot of spicing it up to make it interesting, and given the fact that there is almost no lore mentioning what is going on with the Dominion around this point, you're going to have a lot of room to innovate, but you're also going to have to fill out a large part of the faction's identity and homeland.

Given those thoughts, it may take quite a while before I even start this then. I'll think on it. If anyone has any idea, let me know. :)

I can help you brainstorm ideas and generate content, but under that format I would prefer to remain behind the scenes... MAYBE do the occasional villain or something, but I need the interaction with other actual human minds to enjoy RPs :p

Kind of insulting don't you think? "...need the interaction with other actual human minds..."

    So... does that mean...

    I'M A ROBOT?!

It means that isolated in my own little country being forced to rely on inventing my own characters is almost as boring to me as playing chess by myself.

It means that isolated in my own little country being forced to rely on inventing my own characters is almost as boring to me as playing chess by myself.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum. Dialogue and character interaction are fantastic tools to push the plot forward and cultivate your character's identity. But we often lose those when the only characters are player characters.

What should be a quick, interesting conversation becomes an exchange of long-winded monologues, where every participant spends a small eternity dwelling on each sentence and saying in one hundred words what they could say in five. And the more players you have in any situation, the longer it takes to actually do anything, resulting in ludicrously slow pacing, where it takes a week to finish introductions.

Inventing background characters gives life to our story, and keeps our characters fresh and developing. It helps us move the story forward, and doesn't inhibit our creativity. It also helps us get into the habit of writing as our characters instead of ourselves.

Not that writing alone doesn't have its downsides. For one, when other people are relying on us to move the story forward, we tend to write more. There's also the wonderful element of unpredictability and necessary adaptability that come from working with other writers and their characters.

Dabiene, maybe we could find a happy medium. Each kingdom/faction/rainbow club could have a group of three or four writers working together. They pursue a plot internal to their kingdom/faction/rainbow club, while at the same time working together to plan out and execute their goals on a larger scale. We have the benefits of writing with others while still retaining some of the autonomy that comes from writing alone, as well as being able to roleplay on a massive scale with a lot of people.

People can also group or be grouped so that newer writers can be working with and getting advice from more experienced ones.

Just a thought though. I don't doubt you've got some wonderful plans in mind already.

I was thinking those exact thoughts. It sounds like a good idea. Either way, if one player does disappear, the RP can still continue. I can still write for any faction to continue the 'hostilities' in the Tamriel factions. Until the player(s) of that group come back again.

I'll keep thinking some more but that seems like a pretty decent solution there Ponder. :)

Hey, by the way, just a quick thought. If a character dissapears, someone of the same faction or anyone whose character is close to him(locationally), can write about the dissapeared dying.
There's probably people out there who already do this, but I just it could be useful.

I'm stilling thinking on how I want this played out. If you have experience in RP that will help a lot. Hopefully this weekend I'll have it up.
