Got a post up, but I'm not sure how much people can respond, given my distance. I hope somebody will want to interact.

I did see this and think it a perfect opportunity for my little psycho to get involved. If he contacts Hal under the pretence of helping out, but with the intention of stabbing Hal in the back and taking the boy, brainwashing etc. I don't know, I just thought it could lead to some interesting plot developments.

    Oooooh this should be fun.

On a similar topic, I think if I do get away with saving this kid, I want to start a group of sorts, like a pro-channel league or something (i'll think of a better name) unless you all think this is dumb.

It gets better and better. Suspecting a confrontation in the later story.

Looks like this Stockholm kid is the first step then. Ryu can be very convincing, and can use the better side of his powers to convince the kid that he's a good guy. It should be interesting.

I feel Hal has the same talent. Perhaps we should have them both try to convince the kid to come with them at the same time? So they have an argument of words and abilities, rather than a direct conflict? Could be interesting.

Name: Christopher (Chris) Treaux (like throw without the "h")
    Gender: Male
    Race: Caucasian
    Age: 17
    Religion: Southern Baptist
    Birthplace: New Orleans, Louisiana
Current Residence: Rent house on the outskirts of Metairie, Louisiana (just outside of New Orleans)

Powers: Telepathy (nearing the point of mind control); Mind reading
    Favorite Movie: Inception
Favorite Song: Lips are Movin' by Meghan Trainor
    Aspirations: Politician
Dialogue Color: This (1st row, 7th column)

    Appearance:
    39-atlg.jpg

    Eyes: Light Blue
    Hair: Dirty Blonde
Hair Style: Like the guy above except Chris wears his hair flat

    Personality: Charismatic and Controlling
Equipment/clothing: In late spring and hot summer days, Chris usually can be found wearing athletic shorts and a t-shirt; he does not care much about his appearance because his personality so easily draws people in. Other days out of the year he wears denim jeans and whatever shirt he happens to grab.

Details of powers: Chris's mind-reading allows Chris to hear the thoughts of anybody around him so long as he focuses on the person. This requires Chris to focus-in entirely on the subject, but once it activates, the thoughts of that person ring around inside his head.

On the other hand, his power of telepathy allows for Chris to project his own thoughts into somebody else's head. Christ must first focus in on a subject, much like his mind-reading. Then, he must think whatever he wants the other person to think. This does nothing more than put the thought into the subject's head, but this thought can easily begin to guide the actions of the individual.

Bio: Chris was born to a lower middle-class family with two working parents: a dad who worked from 8AM to 5PM every weekday as a rehab specialist and a mom who worked unsteady hours with whatever small job she could find. They always rented a house so they never stayed in the exact same place more than two years. They moved around a lot, but Chris's personality allowed him to make and maintain friends in any area easily.

He excelled in school with little effort, feeling like the information actually wanted to be with him. He could never explain it, but at times he felt like knowledge actually wanted him; like it would ignore other people just to make sure Chris was informed. He later attributed this to some early manifestation of his powers.

When he was 14, Chris and his best friend David went on a fishing trip on Lake Pontchartrain with Chris's father. They had a small boat with a small electric motor. Chris and David were side by side, baking in the hot summer sun. Chris noticed a slight smirk on David's face; clearly, he was thinking something. Chris began to focus on David mentally, but kept his eyes on the water. After a second, a thought ran through his head. It'd sure be funny if I pushed him in. This freaked Chris out, because somehow, he knew this thought was not his. A thought ran through his head. You better not; there are alligators in here, David!

David looked over at Chris, shock apparent on his face. He whispered, seeing Chris's dad was too in-tune with the water to hear, "You... you didn't say that. Your lips didn't move."

Chris could only stare. He had just discovered his powers; he had realized he was a channel. Horrifying thoughts ran through his head. Thoughts of imprisonment and loneliness, mostly. He didn't notice that he had a bite at the end of his fishing line until his dad touched his shoulder and pointed at the rapidly straining fishing line.

David didn't tell a soul about what had happened. In fact, it seemed to only make them better friends. He allowed Chris to practice his powers on him, and it didn't take Chris long to realize that, when projecting a thought, he had to make it sound like the other person's. So he made sure the projected thougths were first person from the perspective of the subject. Eventually, he had that technique memorized.

Presently, Chris maintains a perfect GPA in school taking honors classes. He remains friends with David. He maintains an account on Channel Surfing, named Cajun_Chan. He has met, through use of his abilities, 3 other channels in his eareas. In order to meet together in a discreet way, they take part in a 5-man bowling league with David as the fifth. They get to meet weekly on a regular schedule and discuss in-person their struggles.

So, I spent a lot of time on this. I wanted to make it realistic, and I wanted Chris to have some power that would never physically manifest. I wasn't sure how people would feel about ESP powers, but I figured if Dark Matter Manipulation was feasible then so is telepathy.

So... yeah. Lemme know what you think of Chris.

I think Chris and Alice should play chess. It would probably be them staring at each other for about five minutes, then one of them knocking over the king and saying "You win."

Alice can see the future (sort of); Chris could read her mind. If she thinks "He's going to move the bishop next move", would he be able to read that thought and not do it, thus changing the future?

    Help, my head hurts

We can go along with you tagging yourself along, you just need to change the details I mentioned and PM me so I can include the meet in my first post.

But next time do not character control like that again without permission. And what do you mean you weren't given notice? Why would I give you notice on something that has nothing to do with you?

I wrote my post from earlier in a rush and going back over it... jeez... if I ever write that badly again (missing words, repeated use of 'He' as a sentence starter, lack of continuity) please someone give me a virtual slap? I really need to get into the habit of proof reading...
