When playing on PC, I encountered a particularly irritating glitch in the middle of the Dawnguard main quest.

In the Quest "Beyond Death" ,in the Soul cairn I just finished defeating the dragon, i got the Elder Scroll. I was on my way out of the Soul Cairn when, right when I exited the Boneyard area of the Soul Cairn. The game crashed and I ended up on my desktop. I thought it would only happen once but nope, it just happens over and over and over.

Can someone help me figure out how to fix this glitch?

I'm looking around the interwebs for you, as I haven't encountered this crash for myself. Do you use any armor mods that modify the dragonbone armor? The game doesn't like the conflict in this specific area, and will CTD as a result. (May also be true of weapon mods, skeleton mods, or any mods that overwrite the Dawnguard DLC in this area.)

One fix would be disabling the armor (or relevant other) mods long enough to get out of the Cairn. There is a mod fix on the Nexus that others have had success using -- it's abandoned now, and full of irritating grammatical errors, but the majority claim it works.

Possible CTD Fix

Yes, several times. After the first two times I saved inside the Boneyard but the problem continued to happen.

Just letting everyone know I managed to get past the glitch by reloading back to before I encountered Serena's mother (after which i needed to hunt down the Keepers and slay the dragon again) then the game continued on.

Im not exactly sure what caused this glitch though as no one else seemed to have experienced this problem.
