Hi there, I'm new here and this is my first post. I started playing Skyrim about six weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it. Basically as soon as I started, I learned about console commands and they've helped me a lot, especially because this is both my first RPG and PC gaming experience. So I was playing around, and as a noob, my health was very low and I couldn't complete anything because I would get killed so quickly. Frustrated, I used the console to increase my health to something crazy high (I think it was 1000), then later on remembered to set it lower. Now, it doesn't ever change. I've set it to 400 and then leveled up, and it increases then, but every time I start the game up again it defaults at 400. I did the same thing to stamina and set it at 400. Since then I have leveled up and my stamina is now 470, which I'm happy about, but I'd like to just reset it to the value that I really earned. I haven't messed with magicka at all, so that isn't a problem. Thanks so much for any help.

You could try "player.modav health -xxx", xxx being the amount you want to remove from your health pool. For stamina simply put "stamina" instead of "health".
e.g. player.modav health -400
